NICKY HAYDEN: Race in Peace.

Nicky will forever be the only person to win a 990 title except Rossi. He will be sorely missed. RIP.

This is unfair. Rest in peace Nicky Hayden you were always the class act for all to follow in your profession.

RIP Nicky.
Terrible news.
Yet I feel lucky that he was able to spend the time among us and set the example he did.

I wonder how Rossi feels now.. Lost his best friend (Marco) and now his 2 time team mate/very close friend..

A lot of people will be like me, I'm sure, and will find their way back to this board to try and find some solace with like minded people after hearing this godawful news.

I think I posted about this when he retired, but Nicky was a pretty big reason I started watching MotoGP in the first place. I was only really interested in f1 at the time, but I saw a photo of Nicky in his HRC days and decided it was a sport I should look into (such a good looking guy!:)) and that would be reason enough alone to be so appreciative of the guy. That was his championship winning year, and made me adore him for the way he handled such a stressful, tough situation.

I think it's one thing to be a fan of someone, but quite another to stay a fan of someone...and I am forever proud to say that I stayed a fan until the end.

Bless your soul Nicky.

No offense, but who the .... cares what Rossi feels. Why anyone needs to bring him up now is ridiculous considering this tragedy HAS NOTHING TO ....... DO WITH HIM.

I wonder how Nicky's family feels as those are the people who matter most right now.

Gonna be a bit blunt so apologies up front if any if this offends but .... it.

Life is sometimes so ....... unfair, when it takes the good way to early well before their time is due.

Nicky may not have been in class of many riders on ability or results, but on sheer guts, will, determination and attitude he is well up there in that he never gave up despite the adversity he faced throughout his racing career.

But, best and perhaps most telling of all is that I have never heard or read a bad word about Nicky and all of the people I know who have met him will be shedding tears today as they all said that a nicer guy you will not meet.

The world today is a poorer place for your passing and well, again it ....... sucks that we will no longer get enjoyment from willing on Nicky no matter where he may be in the race.

To his family, you have my best wishes and thoughts and to his many friends and fans on this forum, thoughts also with you all at this time but always know, that he may be gone but Nicky will be with us for a long time yet, as that friendliness and 'good guy' charm is not easily forgotten.

Godspeed.

Absolutely gutted for his loss, his poor family must be devastated.
Farewell to the true "people's champion".
If Dorna have any decency, they'll go back to Laguna next year and rename the track in his honour.
Seeing him fly around Laguna was a thing of beauty....

Very sad day indeed, great loss.

Not sure to describe it, but it just seems to hurt more than if it had been a racing accident. It just does not seem right or fair.

Poor family and friends.

I agree, we hold our breath for 45 minutes every other week till every rider crosses the finish line safely. Theyput their life on the line in 200 mph duals with death just waiting for the slightest mistake. To see a rider go out on a freakin bicicle is in some ways cruel. I watched Nick grow up , he gave me many happy memories on Hayden Hill as a bunch of drunken grown men celebrated every win. Thanks for everything Champ, and for Rose and Earl, hopefully you can find solace in knowing your boy was a good person and loved worldwide

Gone but not forgotten. A man who set an example to us all. Who brought joy to millions not just in the way he went about his job, but the way he went about his business. A class act, truly.

Rest in peace Kid.
