Hey Everyone,

I haven't been into MotoGP long enough to be a die-hard fan of any rider in particular, but in the few races I've seen and the history I've read, I've come to like Nicky Hayden quite a bit.

I've been following closely on his switch to Ducati, and I'm worried he may have a rough season with the new bike (I know I have problems with riding a Ducati
<
). The tests that he's run have gone ok, but it didn't seem like anything spectacular. Well, I don't know much about it, so what do you guys think?

Here's hoping he has a great season

Well for one thing the bike has had issues with the frame twisting and undulating under acceleration. That issue has been directly dealt with due to the use of the new carbon Fiber frame. THis is a departure from the usual steel trellis fram Ducati is known for. The new frame is more stable and gives more feedback. Hayden says he loves the bike and it gives good feedback. I think we will see right away when the first test sessions start for the Qutar race. It should be interesting.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to the first big race. My family lives in Qatar, and I'm tempted to fly out there to witness the race myself!

Well you may be new to the sport, but you seem very smart in your choice of riders to follow. Just stay away from those Rossi fans, that is unless you like lunatics.

Haha, anyway, yeah. I think its a bit early friend. I wouldn't say he will come out making podiums, but he should be in batter shape than when Honda put him on that minibike in 07.

Oh yeah, those Aussies can be some real pricks waving their flags when they win and ..... (I wouldn't know about those Spaniards, they only like to post flags to themselves ie Lorenzoland).

Hello. I'm a Hayden fan as well and I have my reservations about this season as well. If Hayden can pester Rossi, Dani, Dovi, and Lorenzo throughout the course of the season, I think it will be a great success.

I can't see him challenging for a title this year unless he has a spectacular test at the end of this month.

You should join the Transcontinental Congress

We are a group of rebels who refuse to drink the yellow drank. We exist as a faction of resolute individuals who will provide unwavering support for Stoner and Hayden throughout 2009.

If you want in, just add the Transcontinental blurb in your sig (see my sig). We randomly call Congressional sessions to discuss races/tests/etc. Membership gets you nothing.

Learn to ski man and you will forget about motorcycles. You are in a state that gets more/better powder than about anyplace on the planet. Take advantage of it.

And don't let them bowl you over about SoCal it's over rated.

Welcome to the forum. Like Lex has said, if Hayden can return to podium form then I think it will be a successful 2009. I think that's a pretty reasonable expectation for the season, to finish in the top five in points. His first outing at Valencia didn't look too spectacular but it was a lot of adjusting. He looked far more comfortable and faster at Jerez. I imagine he will continue his progression and should be ready for a fight come Qatar. I'm a bit optimistic about his chances aboard the Duc, I don't think a win in 09 is out of the question.
