Newbie from the UK

Hi folks,



I'm Russ and I live in the UK. I've fairly recently got into MotoGP (started watching regularly a few races into the 2011 season - was really warming to Simoncelli, and I couldn't believe how hard it hit me when he was killed - it was my wedding anniversary that day). Anyway, I am of course now supporting Cal Crutchlow, and it'll be good to see Bradley Smith joining him next year.



I got my full bike license when I was 17 (waaay back before you had to work for it!), but haven't ridden that much over the years (I'm 38 now). I went to the bike show at the NEC in Birmingham at the weekend which was awesome, but I guess I'll talk about that in a separate thread.



Nice to stumble across this place as none of my immediate friends and family have any real interest in MotoGP.

BJ.C's comment about me looking familiar was, I assume, a little joke in reference to my avatar. My avatar pic is of course not me, it is Cal Crutchlow. My reply was just playing along with that, implying that the avatar is me but that I have a twin brother (Cal) who falls off bikes for a living.



I guess it wasn't that funny really!
 
I had that all sussed, I was thinking that maybe ...forget it. The age made you good for James Toseland. Although my understanding of his rough earlier life may have precluded a brother.



Cal was on his game towards the end of last year.
