<{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>welcome kab! there are actually no rumours about why assen changed the track. it officially stated that, I've translated it from the racesport.nl website:
Making the track shorter is partial decided by the car- and motorsport, in with assen was the longest track of the championships for a longer period of time. To keep connections with all the international wishes and the recent developments in the car and motorsport (safety), they have decided to make the track shorter. A shorter track means more laps for the riders, tense races, a bigger involvement of the audience with automatically more attractivity. The track will become 4.750 km long, in with the the unique Strubbentribune will still exist and around the new cornercombination will come a new 'stadion'. Making the track shorter will create app. 7.000 new parkingplaces, a new entry, which will give the audience more and better facilities. After all of this, TT world BV shall build there buildings on the other remaining 9 hectare.
TT world will build a amusement park, where people can recreate during the day and night, and where the events and the races will get there own facilities. At the edge of the new Noordlus there will be build some new tribunes with a capacity of app. 7.500 people. The hotel will also contain a 'place' where people can go to a congress, a motormuseum, a amusement hall, a motorcafé with a bowlingcentre and a gamehall, a kart-centre, a fitness/aqua welness centre, and some fast food shops. When the TT world accomodation is finished, it will include 60.000m² surface.
if you have more questions kab, I'll try to look for them on the dutch site and answer them!
thank you!!
