New AMA Superbike rules

This is just for the Daytona 200. Suzuki can run the 750 so why in hell would they run a 600. This isn't the superbike list for the whole series just the 200.

Has anybody followed CORR? (Championship Off Road Racing). Well it’s a fairly new series, and they have adopted many of the Nascar type promoter gimmick and applied them to their spectacle. I just got back from one this weekend (extremely entertaining), and one thing I noticed was zero signs and advertisements for the manufactures. It was all about the sponsors (energy drinks, oils, related products, etc.). Its as simple as this, DMG has decided to create a spectacle NOT a racing competition; basically a <span style="color:#FF0000series of commercials disguised as racing.

AMA racing died this year. Its not always the best thing to happen, but once it does, it can never be brought back. Welcome to the new world of "American motorcycle racing".

So for those of you shitting on it like Tom and Phleg (who always pop up on these threads as if they know something about the AMA but always show their ...), here is a news flash:The BSB has had a terrible relationship with Dorna UK, guess why; oh yeah its because they want more TV money for the teams that Dorna hordes to itself, this means you boys are ahead of us when it comes to selling out.

AMA/BSB/WSBK/MotoGP=show me the money, show me a show.

Jumkie, not to got off topic, but CORR existed here in the MidWest since the 70's. But the owner built a track in 2004-05 in SoCal and moved his series to the West Coast.

I'm talking about CORR not SODA. I know what you are talking about (the race was held in the midwest somewhere, I think Wis). CORR was created by the Baldwins. Anyway, my point is this, that its racing that is very fun to watch but it has many cues from Nascar entertainment philosophy. I'm a fan, like I said, just got back from a race, but I can tell that this is where AMA is headed. I think it may have been a mistake to hand it to this DMG group who see all things Daytona--ironically the worst motorcycle racing venue in the entire series. (Have you ever seen the Sund Trust MotoST at Daytona, .... is unwatchable--....!)

As if AMA racing right now in its present form is acceptable??? I welcome the changes and I will hold judgement until at least a few rounds have been completed next year.

I think you probably LOVE the Mat and Ben show don't you? This is not going to be anything like "nascar". If it were, everyone would be on a spec bike, with one tire manu and then it would be ALL about the rider.

What makes you think that?

They took a sports car series and made it very NASCAR-like, complete with performance balancing, Pontiacs, and headlight decals.

I don't see them NOT running it like NASCAR.

The AMA is garbage. It will be a joke series. The competition round the world will be way above the series in america and DMG will be responsible for the debacle. I for one will NOT support them anymore. I hope the manufacturers decide to pull from the Gay m A and start a new series. There has been talk of this and I think it will happen if and when all the papers are signed by DMG. It is in the planning stages but they have made the statements enough to draw from that it will be NASBIKE in a way. What a shame. ....... nascar which is supergay and a loser sport has their hand in the best Motorsport going in the U.S. And if you think Nascar is SO special and great go look up the oldest driver to try and Qualify for the Gaytona 500. There is no way in hell that would ever happen in motorcycle racing. EVER!!! Ha Agostini BACK IN WORLD CLASS COMPETITION! He signs as Rossi's teammate! Yeah No way right!
