My take on the new Indy layout

So Ill be flying down to Laguna tomorrow and decided to look at the new Indy layout before I leave

I think you are wrong. Runoff are allways a balance about where bikes are likely to go off and the need for space for other things and car security.

First of all the layout doesent show the whole picture so it's difficult for anyone to make jugment based on that.

But even without a clear view of the run off zones I can assure you T4 is not an issue. T1 and T5 are also probably ok. The only one that might be dangerous is T16. To what degree is impossible to say without photos from several angles.

The run off doesnt allways have to be that big. Look at the chicane at assen, hardly any run off zone at all. Still assen has in modern times been the safest track to race motorbike at, or at least that's what the organizers try to achieve.
