Look behind you....
I've decided to split my opinions into two threads. Here's the teams and riders for '07 thread.

Teams in general:
Like I said in the other thread, I loved seeing the kind of teamwork Barbera and Lorenzo had going, and if it were up to me, teams would have to be made of two people who can't stand each other. It makes for much better racing.

Ilmor:
Do they even have one rider yet? My personal feelings are that Locatelli should get this ride, hear me out here. He's an experienced rider, he's turned last years Aprillia, with the least or near to least funded team on the grid as I understand it, into a competitive bike against this years Aprillia's and Honda's, meaning he must be fairly good at development. In addition he's a fan favourite, in my opinion he could get some much needed money to Ilmor. Ilmor are never going to get podiums and wins anyway this season, so a former MotoGP rider won't help them that much, and if as is being said, the new 800's are more similar to 250's, then Loca being a 250's rider will help surely.

Kawasaki:
Are they really that underfunded that they need to get rid of their good rider and keep the French equivalent of Windows? Him and Crashey could compete for most DNF's in a single season, in my opinion Randy should be the test rider, he can set fast times when not under any pressure, but in a racing situation he's useless. Can't complain with OJ coming back though.

Ducati:
This one is unfathomable to me. Of course keeping Loris on is a no-brainer, but bringing in, as Richo described him, Honda's parts durability tester to ride the hardest bike to ride on the grid?! What were they on when that seemed like a good idea? If I'd had to pick a good rider for Duke next year, I'd have gone with Tiger Toni Elias. Elias's riding style is in some ways similar to Loris's, and I think his riding style would suit Ducati, in addition, he's a reliable rider for staying on the bike, while still being the rookie for the future that Ducati were looking for, with one seasons more experience than Casey.

LCR Honda:
Whoever decided to take on Carlos Checa is a genius, I think its quite possibly one of the best decisions taken this year by the team bosses regarding riders, and good for Checa too to put distance between Dunlop and Tech3.

Yamaha:
I heard CE's interview after Estoril and it disgusted me. He doesn't deserve to be on a good bike with an attitude like "I'm going to do whatever Rossi wants". Let Rossi worry about Rossi's title, and set about doing something about your own dismal record vis a vis podiums. I have never heard such a lack of ambition from a professional sportsman. Its pathetic, it really is.

Suzuki:
Are they even planning to go racing next year? I've heard nothing about their bike or riders for next year.

I've missed out some teams I know, but thats just the ones with developments of interest to me.
