Thanks Teo. I better come up with something fast because I don't want anything to do with the types of crashes Jorge's been enduring lately.

For a 2003? Kinda unsure about that. You can get a new one for 9. Almost double, but for a new bike. 5 years different for 4 thousand less. At least it has been broken in.

Better than I paid for my RC51. 3500 for a 7 year old bike. Sold it an only got 1000.

Oost, the punk who dissed your bike probably doesn't even ride.

How far are you from the boarder of Michigan? There are some good roads out of Iron Mountain. Less Twisty's but nice scenic roads.

Yeah that's about the going rate for any 600 from 2001 through 2004. From 2005 later they run about $6,000 up to MSRP. And I knew from the start I wanted a Yamaha so finding an 03 at that price made sense to me. And I'm not a big fan of the 2006-2008 model R6.

Why so low value on the RC51? I think that is one of the coolest bikes of modern racers. When I decide that I'm ready to move on from my R6, RC51 will definitely be on my shortlist.

It takes me about six hours to get to the west side of Lake Michigan and then a four hour ferry ride to get to Michigan, otherwise it's a nightmare trying to go through Chicago. Quite a ways. Was offered a ride out that way but decided against it, just going to cruise the country roads in Wisconsin for a couple days in about two weeks. And surprisingly, Wisconsin has some pretty good riding.

I really need to figure out how to mount a cam on my bike. Any ideas for a point and shoot camera? Other than duct tape.

I got a low price as I had attempted to convert it to a race bike and I ended up having gear problems with the stock gearbox, and sold it as is. The headlights were taken out and in a box, and the brakes were pretty worn after a few track days. I also had a fall and the black paint was pretty white and scratched up.

I was talking more about going the Upper Peninsula route. Not alot of people, and plenty of state troopers, but some great 2 lane roads in the middle of nowhere. Then head down to St.Ignace and go across the bridge (5 miles on a bike is very exciting). Take a round trip. Go throught Chicago.

If you think the Yamaha was hit be the ugly stick, my friend then you probably think all sport bikes look like ...., as the R6 and Yamaha's in general are amazing looking bikes.

I'm pretty fond of the 03-05 R6 and 04 and newer R1. The old R7s were pretty awesome looking too, the few that actually made it to the street. And the M1 certainly has a good look to it.

Looks like you really pissed someone off in your Chopper thread. What an ....., the looks of an R6 is only 1/10th of its appeal, I'll take an R6 over a Busa any day of the week

Why does it matter what he rides or if he rides? Why does it need to be a competition to have the more valuable opinion? I think the R6 has been a consistently unattractive line of bikes since the start, but i think attractive sports bikes are in the minority anyway.

Your reply makes me think that you don't ride, of course I could and probably am very wrong, but you seem very defensive. I think it makes all the difference weather someone rides or not, not that it makes a person's opinion any less or more valuable, but guys and gals that ride(pillions included) have a connection and an understanding to/with bikes that people that don't ride just don't get, its all well and good reading and listening to jurnos/commentators etc... and thinking you know all about bikes and the sport, but your missing the most important factor in my honest opinion, and thats the feeling/experience

As for the R6 being unattractive, you must have serious eye sight problems

each to their own and all that, who really cares what it looks like when it goes like the clappers

BTW Austin, nice ride best of luck with her

I used to live in the upper Michigan when I was a kid. Beautiful country for about 2 months out of the year and thats it. I have good memories of the place but I don't think that I will ever go back. Say ya to the U.P. eh...no

Awesome bike Austin. That what I want to get when I upgrade my YZF600R. Im not gay or anything but let me know how your ... and arms feels after a 3-6 hour ride. Im curious to know about the comfortable factor.

Just did a weekend of six hour rides each day last week. Day one I really had no issues for the first three hours. After the lunch break my knees started to get quite stiff so every time we would come to a small town I'd be letting my legs hang to try to rest the joints but it wasn't terrible. Day two on the other hand got to be a bit much. Was trying to rest my knees after only a couple hours and by lunch time it was becoming difficult to find a comfortable position for sitting. I was standing a lot when it got to be slow down time. And the right wrist got quite sore, through the day after as well.

To sum it up it's not terrible for long distance riding but too much really takes its toll.

I disagree, i wouldn't like to shut non-riders out of the sport and hobby that is biking. People who don't ride may enjoy different aspects, or may have a different take on the same elements of biking but thats fine. I'm not trying to defend anyone here (I don't know anyone), i was just trying to encourage an open mind.

BTW i totally agree about the R6 styling being irrelevant, function is far more important than form with these things.

People are going to have opinions... and i don't see a problem with voicing one's own. I'm not a big yamaha fan myself, but i do like their earlier R models. In fact all Manufacturers earlier models are better than the new ones. Sometimes simple design looks best, nowadays bikes are overdone with there sharp angles and radical bodylines just for the sake of a 'change'. I got to say though, Yamaha went downhill after they introduce that model where the front end looks like a newborn babybird with bulging eyes for headlights and a hook beak.

Yea but i'm gonna ignore it unless you have done at least as much riding as me

Agreed, the 06-08 R6 is not a real good looking bike. Although I think the 04 and later R1 is fantastic.
