MX/SX handguards...

I was looking at some MX and SX photos and I noticed handguards were more prevalent at some races than others (particularly MX). Are handguards only used at tracks with dirt mixtures that include more rocks/hard things?

^ you are pretty much spot on their mate.

Some riders equip their bikes with handguards for that very reason, however I have not seen many over here on the British MX scene some tracks being sand, clay or topsoil even.

Only stony track I raced at was on a farm that had to be graded before a meeting, ie around a foot of soil was added on top of the track due to the ground being flinty,

Still after a couple of hours and a few races this didn't prevent the flints coming through and slashing riders tyres.

I expect Stewart to run away with it; however, I expect some good rides from Milsapps (maybe a contender in '08?). it really is too bad RC won't be a full timer, who here thinks he was scared of Stewart?

We do get it in the early hours on Channel 5, but last season they only showed the last 4 races.

What channels is AMA SX shown on over the pond?

Bubba or Reed for the title.

yeah i think stewart will romp. milsaps should do well but it's his 1st season so it'll be a learnin year. rc affraid of stewart?....... hmmmmm........ naaaah. i think he's realized he's losin his edge & is just leaving while on top instead of klingin on & hopin to be able to keep up with the up & commers. besides he want's to prove to everybody how much talent is required to drive in circles!
