Motegi Race Thread ....... - Spoiler City

haven't pramac had some financial troubles this year?

if they don't get the bikes "for free" for being the junior team signing 2 riders, one of which surely demands a paycheck just doesn't add up.but yeah, i'd guess mistress mary is good for a good beating

It's hard to speculate but if Duc are running Pramac as a junior team then one would guess they will be stumping up most of the lolly at least for salaries.

It seems to me that this could be a make or break period for Duc.

Audi are the unknown entity in it all,

How much are they prepared to pay before they expect results or at the very least major improvements?

2013 is going to be an interesting one, that's for sure.

I think this is a situation where it actually would've been embarrassing for a test rider on factory machinery to finish at the back of the field (behind the CRT entries). A bullet dodged.

Lorenzo is saving his engines and playing it as safe as possible. It's not the time to attack for him.

To me it looked like he was trying to win the race, it didn't look like he was taking it easy at all. This is Lorenzo, I'm sure his aim (and Yamaha) was to beat Pedro and Honda on their track.

He said after the race he gave his all but couldn't hold off Dani in the end.

I'm disapointed that Casey's ankle is slowing him this much. Before the weekend I thought he would be able to make the podium. Now I don't see him being able to win PI even. That race is 2 weeks from now. I think it will be difficult for him to win again unless we have another wet race.

Today Dani impressed me, even me. I really didn't expect him to match JL's pace this time, let alone beat him comfortably - after his bike's problems with chatter this weekend (which he said was still there in the race).

During QP and warm-up Jorge had a much better pace and much more confident on the bike. But in the race Dani put up an impressive display of riding to overcome the chatter. It was more impressive than Brno.

Dani - giving it all he can....well done

JLo - Keeping it cool...

Bautista - Lucky....especially on honda home soil

Dovi - hope you like not being on podium since you wont be on it while with the Duke

Stoner - come on!!!

Bradl - Great rookie..

Rossi - Best Ducati rider in the world Today....

Hayden - Got you ... handed to you again by your teammate....and you almost got beat by a test rider....LOL

Nagasuka - well done....

Barbera - you finished!otice of you

Cal - Got beat by your ride hand,...oops!

Spies - LOL.....(Brakes worked fine, it was Rider error for not getting the disks up to right heat levels for optimum use....)
So I guess you didn't watch the race. Crutchlow ran out of fuel on the last lap. Hardly getting beat by his right hand. If it's one thing the software should be able to manage....

I think Migs got a point. As far as I know, riders have control over fuel consumption during the race by adapting fuel maps and being more or less agressive on the throttle. I noticed that Crutchlows bike was repeatedly throwing out flames through the exhaust, something which you'd normally see the Yamaha's only do in qualifying. Looks to me like he was burning too much fuel.

It looked to me like Lorenzo was happy to push and try and make a break. When that didnt happen and Dani went by, he seemed to have settled immediately for 20 points. Smart!! Dani could very easily win the remaining races since that will more than likely be Lorenzo's strategy for the remainder of the season.

Ha! You clearly don't know Lorenzo. He wants to win. He hates coming 2nd every race especially to Pedrosa. He has probably the biggest ego in GP even more than Rossi. Hell, don't you see his face every time he loses to Pedrosa specially.

He openly stated before Aragon when asked if that was going to be his strategy (settling for 2nds or 3rds or watever), that he won't play that game, that he only cares about being fast and will try his best to win races. Yamaha says the same.

At Aragon race he said he tried his best to stay with Dani but was impossible, at Motegi he said he tried his best to stay with Dani but was impossible. I have no doubts if he could keep up with Dani he would try to beat him for the glory of the victory.

That may be very true....but Jorge is also very very smart, and knows he has one hand on the crown already....but 1 little mistake can to put him in the gravel could mean a lose of enough points to let Dani also get one hand on the crown, or worse could injure him and end his season / title chase.....so Jorge wont be stupid enough to go for a win if it may cost him the MotoGP 2012 crown.....

if 2nd in each of the last races will win the title then Jorge will take a 2nd over seeing his arch rival Dani win the MotoGP this year or ever ....

Of course they are going to say that. Saying and doing are 2 totally different things. He didnt put up an ounce of fight once Pedro went by, which is smart. He is not letting his ego stand in the way of the ultimate goal. Like i said, if he can get out front and make a break for whatever reason, he may win another race this season, but if Pedrosa or Stoner is hounding him lap after lap, he will settle. Right now, Honda and Pedrosa are the superior package and Lorenzo knows it. It has been a good while since he has beaten a Honda straight up in a race.He will say what you want to hear, and bring home the title safely.

Congrats to Pedro.

It was a processional race.

Lorenzo in title mode.

The parity of the field is a farce. Not sure why the CRTs are even there now, since they get no real air time. Its a 4-6 bike championship.

CRTs are there to entertain you when your watching at the track! Couple laps and they are spread so far back it fills out the track!! Otherwise you'd be waiting for something to pass by ever min fifty or so!

What was quite clear from this weekend is that MotoGP is a distant 3rd when it comes to exciting racing compared to Moto3 and Moto2. Hopefully with Rossi back on the Yam and Marquez on the Repsol we'll see some exciting races in the premier class next year. Also Marquez's ride was nothing short of spectacular. The boy is special, there's no doubt about it.

Freaky dude, they stop watching at Rossi (4-6?). Then in one minute in the middle laps the commentary brushed through CRT, get all the names and sponsors wrong - the commentary is allowed to burp in this period.

Then it goes back to Pedro to Valentino sweep on the attention radar.
