Motegi Race Thread ....... - Spoiler City

A boring first half but the Bautista and Crutchlow sub race was getting really good and then Cal runs out of fuel.

Dovi is consistent. I don't know what that means really.

I really feel sorry for Cal Crutchlow.Great ride Bautista - Dani has to catch up 28 points I think in three races, which means that there is going to be a serious and sombre chat with Stoner about getting in between them a bit. If not Casey then Alvaro is going to get some revved up parts. If Dani wins and Casey comes second three times in a row (carry the 1)

They have to make up 1 point even on team orders. And then Dani can carry the "1" .

I've seen Lorenzo bin it a couple of times at PI and he has never won there (premier class).

Watching strategy play out like this, over many days and innings is just like cricket.

I think PI will be the litmus test for Stoner. I'm not sure he is able to even get between them at this point. I don't think his health is up to it. I'm not sure why the "slowing Stoner down" conspiracies started, Honda needs him to go faster not slower to help Dani. It's pretty ....... impressive he's even on a GP bike at this point.

Same as it ment last year he aint going to win .... all.

I was hoping it would be more exciting with Stoner back, but he looked like he was just cruising. Not being anywhere near as aggressive in the bends as he usually is.

At least Moto2 is a good show, Marquez will spice things up next year in GP for sure. He's just in a different league than all those riders.

Mathematically Honda NEED somebody to get between them, which is why Alvaro is looking impressive at the right time for Honda and Alvaro (his Gresini contract got resigned this weekend, go figure).

In the pre race interview with Stoner (Channel 10 Aus) Casey says that he cannot use his leg strength to push himself forward to weight the front of the bike and it is killing lean angles and braking. He also says that he will be slower on a predominantly right hand circuit (which Phillip Island isn't).

PI is a litmus test for Casey but more so for Honda - there is an absolute - get bikes between Dani and Jorge because right now winning just won't be enough.

I still think Jorge is too strong, Dani needs help and Stoner is doing retirement laps, barring a catastrophe for Jorge/Yamaha Pedro just won't make it.

Yeah I was picturing that same race with MM and Rossi on factory bikes. I think a whole lot more going on near the front.

Yeah I agree with all of this. The only it's coming down to Valencia is Lorenzo having a big moment in second and not recovering or he gets torpedoed going in to turn one by somebody.

Give Marquez an early christmas present - a race on a motogp bike.

I'm cheering for Jorge though.

The way Pedrosa has been at it I don't think Lorenzo can beat him. But nobody else can beat Lorenzo, except for Stoner who is clearly unfit at this point. Only has 2 more weeks until Phillip Island, these type of injury's don't heal overnight, and it's not even been 2 months.

Anyone see that ridiculous last lap in Moto3? It was unbelievable. Cortese is such a hothead. He was at fault for the crash at the end, although it did look like Tonucci hit him pretty hard with the bike when he was down. I'm really more surprised that Vinales didn't win this race. He's not had as great a season as I would've expected. Thought for sure he would win the title this year. Doesn't look like it's possible at this point. Marquez has the Moto2 title in the bag. Lorenzo is so close, but it will go down to the last round unless one of them makes a huge mistake, which seems very unlikely.

I hope there are more prototype wild cards! Get more riders in the mix.

Hey mike, I know your post wasn't a spoiler, but try to keep the Moto2/3 postings in the Moto2/3 forums for the peeps who don't get to see the races live...

Looks like Collie had a wardrobe malfunction...

zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Real Race time soon Italian Superbikes on (MotorsTV)

& the BSB ShowDown

funny that german tv rather show a replay of the moto3 race than motogp and repeatedly admit to how boring the race was.

glad the attending fans had some good racing in moto2/3

i really hope the spec ecu comes with at least another liter of fuel, theres nothing worse than seeing someone roll out. robs us of a good showdown

Haha Spies is having a shocker. Never mind Ben, even with all the mechanical issues and fck ups this season, you will still have a shtload points than you will get in 2013 !

true that

i wonder what kind of money the pramac seat pays (surely not more than bmw would have paid him right?), i think this is the worst kind of move he could have made.

I quite enjoyed the race to be honest. Spies crash was a shame, Stoner was disappointing I thought after all the hype, but he's still limping badly when he went back into the garage so maybe I'll let him off this time

The fight between Crutchlow and Bautista was really good, how Cal didn't come off when he had that moment as he was being caught I don't know. Then they were trading places which had me on the edge of my seat and then Cal just ran out of fuel. What a shame! I felt so sorry for him.

Nice to see Lorenzo giving him a lift back in, at least he got a ride on a factory bike
<

Well done to Pedrosa for the win, even if he keeps doing that though if Lorenzo keeps on coming second the title goes to Lorenzo right? He did what he had to though, that's all you can ask of him I guess.

Lorenzo is saving his engines and playing it as safe as possible. It's not the time to attack for him.

I fell aspleep around lap 18. How did it end?
