That was one weird race.

Congrats to Rossi he totally dominated the GP, Hayden was a close 2nd and that's where logic ends.

Roberts 3rd ???!!

Both Sh¡tzukis made it to the finish line in respectable positions !!!

11 bikes left only, Moneybags and Ellislow grabbed multiple points !!!

that definately was one strange race! well done to rossi and hayden... consistently good as usual.

stoner and pedrosa need to learn how to stay on their bikes. they may be the best rookies out there but its not the first time either of them have crashed out of the race in exactly the same fashion as today.

thoughts go out to gibbers, capirossi and melandri. absolutely gutted that i'm not likely to see any of them race next weekend at assen. just hope that they are back for donington

I thought the 250cc race was one of the best i'd ever seen, this one was the weirdest i've ever seen! Poor Marco, Sete, Loris and the others, hope they all get well soon. Bad luck for Stoner and Pedrosa who were doing very well, Pedrosa moving through the field. Only 11/19 racers finished the race, get well soon guys.

First...congrats to Rossi...spectacular race!....I hope all the guys that got hurt are ok....especially Melandri, because they say its a neck injury. I want to know what happened....did Gibbers brakes lock....I mean it looks like someone stuffed a pipe in his spokes.....
BestMan said it best....Peds and Stoner may be the best rookies, but still rookies....
I'm pumped for Kenny Jr, but would have loved to see Hopkins on the boxes.....on to Assen....any thoughts as to what caused that mele?

When Loris and Sete touched, Sete's brake lever was pressed and his front wheel locked, flipping the bike over and catapulting Sete.

And the rest was a bit like a bowling strike.

What a dramatic race indeed! As if the track had been cursed for today's motogp race. One by one the riders fell down. But my heart really goes out to the injured riders. Capirossi for once had a good chance of winning the championship this year. But after today's race I'm not sure how's it gonna be like. I think the seriously injured Marco will be out of the race for a while, not quite sure about Sete's injury though. I really hate to see the motogp riders got injured seriously as a result of the crashing out!

I'm still in shock after the crash..i hadn't pay any attention at the race, but is recorded so i'll see it later on. God!!
I don't know if there anybody to blame for that but it was once again a bad luck for Sete and Ducati's
The Ducati's lost both riders and Loris seem out of the championship batlle if he does not race at assen.
I was scared when i saw both Melandri and Capirossi motionless. As far as I founded out Capirossi is suspected to have bruising to the abdomen and suffering from internal bleeding while Gibernau broke a collarbone and Melandri dislocated a collarbone and was complaing of a sore neck.

P.S. Congrats to Rossi!!.
My opinion: The luck of the doctor strikes again. From the first 6-7 riders only 2 scored: Rossi and Hayden. He 's now on 3rd and 29 points away of Nicky and only 9 from Loris. And if Loris doesn't race at assen it will easy to rossi to pick the trail for the batlle of the champinship. He will win becouse i can't see hayden stand up to Rossi. Not a chance.

they held up a sheet for a while to stop the camera's from seeing marco. last time i saw that was when they did it with senna when he died. thought the worst for a while.

rossi wont want to win because his rivals have crashed out. you could tell with the interviews after that him, nicky and KR JR were more concerned with the other riders safety.

Man that was a bizarre race!

I'm just glad that there was no fatalities after the crash, I hate it when a rider is knocked out and their body goes limp, it makes you think the worst - seeing marco spark out wasnt good.

Great ride from Rossi, the race its self was a little bland - maybe due to the lack or riders!

Nicky did a solid job - never looked like challenging for the win imo, but another good points scoring race & good for the championship - but can he get a race win!? I mean Laguna has gotta be his best bet, but this time he hasnt got track knowledge and rossi has said he wants to beat the amercians this time!

Good battle between Hopper & Kenny, nice to see team KR on the podium & the suzuki having a good race.

How good did stoner look though? I really like the guy and just wished he could calm down a tad, he should have done better really - if rossi's pace was too hard for him he should have circulated at his pace - and brought the bike home. I really think he had the post to get on the podium though.

Hows this gonna affect the championship now?

Will Loris race? He was shown walking to clinica mobile, so I'd say he will be on the grid at Assen (remember he raced with broken ribs after that huge crash at PI).

I'd say Marco would be layed up for a while - who knows?

Poor sete, he's broke his collar bone, thats gonna be a few races out for him.

The worst thing about it is that we have 5 races in 6 weekends, so its not as if they have longer to recover between races.

You forget how dangerous bike racing is until big crashes come along, we could be talking about a fatality today folks - the reply of sete's head hitting the ground wasnt nice.

Just glad everyones aliveb

That was a horrible pile up.

Gibbers looked to have the worst of it however it looked as if Marco was run over by Pedrosas bike, Capper looked out of it and feared for the worst.

Injuries reported.

Capper - Internal bleeding
Gibbers - Fractured collarbone & Slight concussion
Melandri - Broken collarbone & neck injuries.

Lets hope they all get well and get back on track ASAP.

On the plus side good win for Rossi, nice consistency from NH, big cheer for KRJ and his team also Hopper who was unlucky not to get the podium and the rest of the Suzuki squad.

on eurosport they've cut the broadcasting after the podium ceremony so I'm not awere of the top 3 interviews.
on http://www.clinicamobile.com/ they say that Loris was diagnosticated with major chest trauma and had abdominal injury..both required further checks at the hospital. As they say the results are all encouraging and show no internal injury and that thy foresee that Loris will recover soon.
Seem that all three riders will be back soon. But what that soon means? Who knows...

I hope the "soon" means in 5 days, just in time to race the track in Assen.

I've watched videos of when they did it with Senna and I really thought that he may well of gone, lucky he's still here though! Capirossi has internal bleeding? That much be horrible to live with.

I've got no words..just look at the pics...

+ for those wh odidn't see it and don't know how it was caused. Basically everyone tryed to use up every inch on the track into the first corner and it all got a bit cramped, so Gibernau was forced to move in his teamate then Gibernau pressed hard on the front brake and flipped, the others went down like skittles. 6 off into the first corner; three riders with broken bones.

Post race interviews.

Rossi - I was following Stoner and saw the red flag my immediate thoughts were with Marco, then Dr Costa said all 3 riders were ok it was a releif, but the 3rd restart had a bad one.

NH - Said it was like a replay of the World cup Italy V USA, but admitted Rossi was toying with him last few laps...bless him. Also expressed concern for his fellow riders.

KRJ - Was happy to be up front and get the podium but had his sights set higher but admitted not wanting to clash with any of the championship leaders.

Thanks!! I've say that Loris chances are lower becouse even if he can ride at assen he won't be riding at 100% and he will lose important points.

As for the cause of the accident i think that Sete breaked very hard on a F1 marking line and becouse it was a differnt level of grip he was forced to move in his teamate. That's what i understanded from the comentators.

Any other opinions?

i hope all the riders are ok. i was more worried about marco as he got traped between pedrosa and hoppers bike, and then when they went into the graval his bike went on his head and he just laid there. and then they showed loris werent moving. but i think dani pedrosa could have been more caring about marco than his bike. as from what i saw he got up to have a go a marco, saw he wasn't moving and got his own bike up to carry on, without evening seeing if marco was alright. even if you dont like another rider you still see if there ok.

wow weird race or wot? i woke up feeling it wasnt gunna be a good day 2day, let me explain i had to pick a m8 up from gatwick so i was going to miss the race live
<
i checked teletext and his flight was delayed then on route the traffic was a bit stop start, then i couldnt find him but eventually did, came back and watched this race but felt flat,
my veiws on stoner is why dosnt he just sit behind the men who r in front? he flys off then gets caught then falls but a great talent and fast..
