Casey has yet to prove that he can grind out wins, it's all very well starting at the front & just flying through to the finish, but when it comes to people being near him, Casey just crumbles & is passed with ease.

My goodness you have a short memory... Go get a tape/disc of Catalunya 07 & try repeating that statement here again without choking!
<

When he clears out, obviously nobody is going to pass him...

And when he doesn't, well unlike others he's usually at the front right from the start! So if he happens to not be able to match the pace of others on the day then there's only one direction he can go isn't there?
<

I think Loris is a Champ & have nothing but respect for the guy. By the way, he & Casey appear to be good mates so what does that tell you?

your fanboyism is so blatant it makes you look pathetic.

Speaking the truth makes me a fanboy? Riiiight! Good one!

Ok then, who can actually say they've seen Casey battle it out this year, say, in the style of Rossi v Gibernau, Rossi v Capirossi, Hayden v Edwards, Rossi v Pedrosa etc etc etc

True, Casey is impregnable when leading races & can win flag to flag with ease (but then, who can't?!) but he CANNOT come from behind a group, battle through the positions & EARN himself a win. If he does that, I'll say "Hey, Casey is an awesome competitor" but atm, he is not even close.

I believe he's EARN'T himself 8 wins this season by beating the rest of the field 8 times! Dunno what races you were watching but that's what I saw!
So, you believe that to be any good you must come from behind, through a pack to win? I see your logic!

Bet he comes from behind when he's doing Mrs Stoner

Aww the romance as she placed the wedding ring on MotoGP World Champion 2007 live on television in front of millions.

Moving on from these A-style moments....

2008 is going to be bloody awesome!!! Is going to be one hell of an interesting title defence from Casey. Hope he chooses the number 1 plate!

I repeat myself... go re-watch Catalunya '07. And he usually doesn't need to battle through these days as he's generally at the front right from the start!

By the way, 2 of your examples are a bit light on... NH vs CE2 was on one occasion last year & apart from Portugal I can't remember the last time VR & DP had a bang up, hangin' on for dear life battle for the lead!
<

Just for ..... & giggles, there wasn't very many times that Mick Doohan needed to bang handlebars with other riders... from your viewpoint I guess that makes him an undeserving multiple champion as well!
<

I see entirely where people are coming from about Stoner generally being already at the front, & that is my point! He can lead a race no problem & yeah sure, that is a huge part of being a champ, (& obviously he cannot help being at the front most of the time) but he needs to prove that when the chips are down, he can handle it & pick off men one by one to get himself the win.

THAT he has not done!

The fact is that Stoner is so good he doesn't need to battle the others and come from behind most of the time, and that is more impressive sureley?

hi this is what i think!!!!!
well done stonnie (but it`s the software not your skill) but we will see next year if he can keep his (crown)??
just look at last years winner

Cough - Donnington - Cough
May i suggest you watch that race?

12th on first turn in the rain.
Passed everybody in front of him.
At least Loris shows a lot more class than you have.
But I wouldn't expect anything less from him.
Take a leaf out of his book.

We have PROPER World Champion one more!

Casey Kudos to you!

Number 1 plate should be on the Big Red Machine for PI!

Hayden got the job done and took the crown.
Why does that need to be downplayed?
Last I looked whoever got the most points wins.

Well, I guess that time will tell about that...

It's not been to often in the past that lots of riders actually won races in that manner even before Vale arrived on the scene. You are correct in stating that that particular type of race win is a very difficult thing to do but it's not the way most riders would prefer to win I'd wager?

Stoner shouldnt have won it today, i will only think he is a true world champion if he beats rossi fair and square at PI

well done to Stoner, stayed up all-night with the boys drinking are dumb ass amount of booze, still not slept.. in rossi's interview he said Stoner paid tribute to him on his world championship T-Shirt, anyone know what it is?
