Hi guys,
I haven't followed WSBK at all this year. I am very surprised to see the lack of results from Melandri. After his stellar seasons as a title contender, I thought he would be the title favorite and dominate on the RSV4Factory.

What happened? Injuries? The bike?

If you can shed some light that would be good.

She's got a bun in the oven and staying at home...now she has no brains AND no looks...

Melandri is known for being a headcase. Rossi advised Melandri to go to Honda because the Yamaha felt strange to Marco. At Gresini Honda Melandri would complain that lack of support from HRC made his bike feel slow. Then Ducati sent him to a sports psychologist. It backfired on Ducati, but the diagnosis may not have been errant given Melandri's reputation in the paddock.

Melandri gave an interview for crash.net recently. He said he felt like a passenger on the bike, but after some development and settings work, he is able to push for results. Maybe Aprilia baked a special batch of sugar pills for Marco.

TBH i don't think he ever set the world on fire after his hayate stint.
what did he actually do in sbk?
competing with(but not beating) an ageing biaggi and checa?running with the likes of laverty and sykes (no knocking)..... please....
the way he threw bmws chances of a title out of the window was almost hillarious

he reminds me of those emerging super talents in football who seem like hot .... in their teens but are cold farts by the time they reach 30. not sure whether has been or never was is the term to apply here. assen 97 is a distant memory
