Italian star Loris Capirossi is confident of success with Suzuki in 2008.
MOTORCYCLING 2007 Season 2007 Loris Capirossi Ducati - 0

The 34-year-old is evaluating the 2007 and 2008 versions of the prototype 800cc GSV-R during a two-day test at Valencia after leaving Ducati.

"Suzuki looks in a good shape at the moment. Already the bike is good and we have three more tests this year to work on it and make more developments," he said.

"My motivation is 100% focused on that moment and I have new toys in my hand! I am really happy to be going to Suzuki and start working with my new team - the first time I ride the bike will be the best moment for me.

"After 18 years in Grand Prix racing I think I don't have many more seasons, so I want to prepare my body and condition myself 110%, and try to do the best I can to challenge again for the championship."

he confident his teammate will not embarras him this year. thats all. winning races?? naaah hes way past that, he never had it even in his hayday anyways.

It could be a perfect match just like Stoner and Ducati.

the way racing is going now everything has to be perfect because if you loose a couple tenths your at the back rather than the front.

spot on mate, like i have been saying all season just because the duke suits casey doesnt mean its suited to capirossi, casey loved the duke from the start but capirossi wasnt happy with it most of season.

How old was Bayliss mate when he won Valencia??
Capirex should do well next year.....

4th fastest yesterday on a bike he's never ridden-none too shabby!

Hope he rips next year, so funny how people dismiss him(aswel as other riders) just because they had 1 ..... season!

Come on... The man has won 3 world titles in GP racing, one in 125 and two in 250. He was capable of wins and podiums also in the old 500cc, even on satellite bikes. His win over factory riders Rossi and Biaggi at Mugello in 2000 in the 500cc class is something I recommend you to watch when you have some time, it is a masterpiece of all-time racing.

In motoGP, in 2006, he was 3rd overall only because Gibernau knocked him out and he had to skip 2 races. He won more races than Hayden that year and could have even won the title, with a little less bad luck.

Now, in 2007, many have been too ready to declare him finished because he 'only' scored 1 win and 3 podiums, which seem nothing compared to what his World Champ team mate was capable of on the same bike. While praising Stoner, Capirossi anyway insisted that such a difference in performance was because he could never find a good feeling with the new 800cc Ducati.

He was probably sincere! Look at how he has been able to run at the same pace of Verme on his very first outing on the Suzuki yesterday. If good old Schwantz is so pleased to have him at Suzuki there is some good reason.

I'm personally very happy for Capi, and have no doubts he will prove you wrong in 2008
<
I am also sure Suzuki will improve with him on board.

+1 spot on mate.

Loris has gone even better so far today, running 1:33.163, behind only stoner, hayden and pedrosa, with vermeulen well behind him at 1:33.874. Don't know whether they are both running new bikes etc.

Well I never thought I'd be cheering on Loris but that's part of being a Suzuki fan. I hope he does well.
