My only experience with attending MototGP weekends has been multiple races at Laguna Seca where a general admission ticket gave you access to every corner (though a lot of walking was involved) but how is it at other courses? Are most tracks restricted? I plan to head to Misano and don't understand what general admissions can view. I sure don't want to buy a grandstand seat that can only see one of two corners.

I had a ticket to the grandstand that overlooked the first four corners at Misano.

Can't recall that any of the general admission areas could offer a better view.

In the grandstands you can sit relatively high, and therefore have a good view of several corners. You can most likely have a giant screen across the track, to follow the action when not near you. Some grandstands are also under a roof, that can come in handy for shade or rain.

Where do you plan to stay?

I took the train from Bologna, making a trip to Borgo Panigale the same week.

Getting from the track to the train was interesting. Walking was faster than any vehicle... And the trains were so packed on Sunday that we ended up not buying a ticket...

Thanks for the info. We'll be staying in Rimini and thinking of using the bus for transpo. I like your advice about the grandstands. Do you have a favorite?

I have only been once to Misano, and from memory it's the first and last corners that can have some good overtakings.

My impression from other tracks is that they make you pay a the best views, so price should be a good pointer to where the action is.

Having a screen across the grandstand is something that is a must for me.

The app Dorna use is my more or less useless. The delay makes it unusable.

The MotoGP site claims that general admission is "sold out"(?!) Is that really true? My strategy is to go Saturday with my wife as general admission, learn what's up, and then try to land a solo grandstand for Sunday. Does this sound realistic?

So where MotoGP.com is asking between 300/400 euros a seat in the grandstands, motorsporttickets.com is asking far less. But are they real? And has anyone ever been turned away at a MotoGP race for general admission because the track was "sold out"?

Do you plan to visit the Misano race this year, as in 2024? I'm not surprised that the general admission is already sold out. Bagnaia and the Ducatis are hitting peak form. Spielberg and Sachsenring sells out much quicker.

From the overview I see that the stand I was sat at was the Brutapela Gold. That isn't sold out yet.

You have a few grandstands that are available for around €300, as you write.

I've only bought tickets through MotoGP, never an alternative vendor, or tour operator.

For me at least, it's not that big of a gap in price, considering that I can go to maximum one race per year, and spend way more on travel, accommodation and eating out while I'm there.

I'd rather spend hundred Euros more on good seats, and have a good race, and travel cheaper.

What do you want to learn from walking round the track?

Walking around the track at the IoMTT means learning sections of a 37+ mile course and the only cost is bus fair. Favorite sections are the Bungalow and Ginger Hall. As for the closed circuit at Laguna Seca I've seen Rossi, Marquez and Stoner from most all of the eleven turns, all for general admission. So I guess it's just a bit of culture shock and I'll get over it. I just didn't want to be the fool that's trapped in a seat with an angle on two corners and a TV screen paying twice what everyone else is paying because they know the inside line.

I’ve never been to Misano, but to a fair number of tracks in the US and Europe.

I think flat tracks are not as friendly to the general admission ticket holder as the ones with elevation changes. Laguna and Mugello, yes you can walk around and see everything. Not at Valencia for example as a flat track.

If the track is flat, I’d spring for a grandstand seat at a good corner with a giant sized TV.

Sometimes a grandstand seat will let you see some action at adjacent corners.

But the vibe in Italy around the northern Adriatic is awesome, you will enjoy it!
