Lemans SHARK Helmets Grand Prix de France 2020

Both French guys will be under pressure. Neither one has shown consistent signs of weathering a storm.

Weather forecast shows partly sunny fri and sat with rain and 53F temps for Sunday.

I was at this race in 2003 and it was pissing down rain then too. The race was notable for an appearance by Bayliss.... it was just an appearance.

Gonna be a rude wake up call for the class of 2020. I think it is possible some of these guys have never been on a MotoGP bike in the rain? Will be especially interesting if qualy is run in the dry and it’s wet on Sunday.

If it’s wet, let’s see who stays on the bike.

Advantage Rins, maybe Dovi.

But of course, it’s the year of surprises.

Dovi - in the rain.

Can't recall the last time Rossi was on the podium in the rain.

When was the last time their actually was a full wet race with no flag to flag, red flag etc? A race were it was raining the whole time, thru out the whole race? Hmm, silverstone 2015?

There was full wet races in 2016 & 2017. There was most probably at least 1 in 2018 but I can't remember any proper wet races last year.

When was the last time the moon was in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligned with Mars
When peace would guide the planets
And love would steer the stars?
It was the dawning of the age of Aquarius
Age of Aquarius

Aquarius!

Yeah, I was at that track in 2018. In addition to the ...... weather, I remember being appalled as the yellow horde applauded when Marquez crashed.

Well I certainly didn’t expect that. Terrible weekend for my fantasy team but very entertaining and unexpected.

Weird ....-show. Marquez 2nd??? Dovi's rear turning to jello. Meh.

Fab went very ordinarily again.
Fought back past Mir at the end but way off the leaders' pace.

Considering how few rain races have been run over the last few seasons, I can't help wondering if Suzuki and KTM were brilliant in their adjustments for rain, just lucky or a little of each. Not surprising that HRC would possess a wealth of data with which to dial in their bike.

I wonder what the payout for that would’ve been? Entertaining race in the end.
Petrucci raced excellently. Seemed to outfox everyone.
Feel for Jack, another DNF through no fault of his own.
Alex from 18th to second was ride if the day for me. He’s not his brother and the comparisons are unfair but I do think he can be a consistent top 6-8 rider as he continues to improve. Incredible first wet ride.
Not sure what happened to Mir, obviously Rossi crashing hampered him but he just couldn’t seem to get it together after that.

Another reshuffle of the grid in terms of power balance on race day. What an unusual race at the front!! So unusual to see Dovi lose out on tyre life over the race distance!

Once I got accustomed to the spectacle it was surely fun to watch. Petrucci did very well to keep things together. So did Marquez .... what a run to that second place.

If VR can't win during a season as this one, then he will surely never win again!! 3 crashes in a row doesn't at all bode well for him. His decline has accelerated it would seem. I'm sure he will have the occasional moment, but the tables have now turned.

Tough break for Rins... I was hoping he'd have been there for the podium and even the win.
