i dunno. i used to like the guy. showed a lot of promise, but just hate to see people give up like that. seems him and elias just straight up gave up on the duc.

west may not be a great rider, but at least he hasn't given up on the kaw. every race he puts everything he has into trying to gain a position. just haven't seen that kind of heart from marco.

IMHO, Melandri should move out from Ducati soon, I do not see a better result sooner or later, and his manager, Alberto Vergani, already hinted that they may split on 2009 with the Ducati. But if they go out sooner, it will be much better for him and the Ducati. Maybe another problem for him is Gresini, Fausto Gresini has a good relationship with him, and Marco has been seen in Gresini's hospitality lately, hard to choose between the green frog and the San Carlo team, but I myself prefer him to go to Kawasaki rather than a satellite team.

As much as I do not believe in quitters, Melandri was just NEVER going to get a hold of this bike, it just is not suited to his style of riding at all. I am glad he is moving out because he deserves to be riding up front with the others, but I feel it will need to be a yamaha or Honda if he has any chance of doing that in the near future.

you may be right. he may not have quit. just my perception. it "appears" he has given up. i guess i might feel the same way though if i just couldn't come to grips with a bike.

i praise these guys for even attempting to jump onto another brand and try to race. i've been racing the same bike for 3 seasons, and i know if i tried to move to a different brand, it would be like fish outta water.

Yes, I agree with that. He is damned on the Ducati, but he is damned too if he doesn't go out. He may need to think the best about his future. As the saying goes... The successful man doesn't mean never got down, but the one who always fight back when he is down...

Djm, yes... it needs courage to move to another brand. If Ducati doesn't work for him then he need a different tool to come back to the winning ways... If it doesn't work on the Kwaka, Honda is his ship then...

Melandry should have leave Ducati much earlier and hates to see him took Capirex seat there and Ducati can't blame Melandry either. Both made mistakes. Capirex can show his finger again to the Duke boss-Mr Suppo. The Dukes not meant for everybody and Melandry should know that.!!

Suppo should have taken Barros or Sete instead of Melandry last year if they wanted to get rid of Capirex. Poor Capirex. That Dukes only suit Aussies be in GP or SBK.

You might be right ..... not sure but Daryl Beattie was leaving out some chum on the thought that Vermulen was available but does not want Baylis's SBK ride ..... is Vermy the next Duc. rider?
