Laguna Seca

I would love to go to Donington since I live in the UK. I like to go to a Moto GP race as well but I stick going to Donington first.

i will be going to Donington myself, its a real good track but the facilities are pretty crap. i usually watch at crainer curves as you get a good view as they come round the 2nd corner, down to the old hairpin and then under starkey's bridge. usually see some overtaking in these place so good viewing.

will you be going this year.

the main reason i decided to go was to watch them go down the corkscerw, that has to be one of the best parts of any circuit in the world.

Yes it is, and your gonna .... your pants in amazment! Its like an elevator shaft, three stories high. Flip left, flip right, while dropping down, just like a rollercoaster.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Tom @ May 24 2007, 10:25 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>not without the small bikes its not. I will not pay for 6 races and watch 1!
Tom, you don't get it!

You are too used to British promoters who do little more than open the gates. The races over here ARE the entertainment, and in between races you twiddle your thumbs!

The US GP is not about 'how many races will I see?'
The US GP is about the show!!!

Do you know what? I can't be bothered!!!!!
I am so sick of British promoters and their lack of foresight, enthusiasm and imagination. If you want to go to a proper GP event Tom, truly suitable to the world stage, go to Laguna. You won't see me at Donington, you will see me at Laguna. That says it all really!!!!!

It depends what you want for your money really, i want to watch grand prix motorcycle races. With flights to California as expensive as they are, i wont be going any time soon.

I know mate, understandable.
One day, when you've got that spare bit of cash in your pocket, and hopefully the GP is still there, just go. You won't believe the difference, and you'll understand what I'm getting at. It is very difficult to put into words, it's just a 'Wow' factor thing.

Then, when you get back, get in touch with me and tell me how f unbelievable the Corkscrew is!!!!!!!

It will be my 1st time to the track so I was looking for some advice on where the best places are to watch ( will definetly spend some time at the corkscrew). I have a grandstand seat at turn 4 on the saturday and turn 11 on race day, would anyone be able to recommend watch from these grandstands or would you go else where?

Can anyone recommend any places to go to get a beer at night when the racing is over?

Are there any other Brits making a trip out to Laguna this year?

Any advice or information would be appreciated.

Good plan Dave!

I'm not a Brit but do go there the race weekend at july. This week i've booked my flight and I'm leaving holland the 15th already. will arrive at San Francisco Airport and than take a bus or so to Monterey at the 20st. Still trying to get paddock tickets for Laguna (not for the full price though) but otherwise (or anyway) will try the grandstands and walk all over the track. So if you want, we can catch up.

i MIGHT make a surprise visit...the people i was going with backout...but i might take a redeye flight out alone...

To be honest, if I was in my position but I lived in USA I would much prefer to go to Laguna instead of Donny, yeah it's good here but you can't compare it to Laguna (In my opinion, please don't shout at me

Phil

And I do go to Donington before you say,

Laguna is an awful track for motorcycles, not even a nice piece of green grass on show...sure it has great facilities i am told but it has nothing on Mugello, Phillip Island etc.

Everyone should get to Phillip Island if possible. Great track, great scenery and heaps of us Aussie idiots to get pissed with! Everywhere on the circuit is a good place to watch bikes. In short it ROCKS!!!

I would love to see Phillip Island some day. It's the best track on the schedule. It's fast and has a nice flow to it; The Island is a breath of fresh air when compared to crap circuits like Shanghai, Sepang, Valencia, and all the other boring, modern circuits.

Sepang is excellent except for turn one.
