I leave for the beautiful California coast this coming Thursday afternoon and I wanted to see what everyone's thoughts are for the Top 5 before I leave and have limited access to the internet.

Head Says
1. Colin Edwards
2. Valentino Rossi
3. Nicky Hayden
4. Marco Melandri
5. John Hopkins

Heart Says
1. Nicky Hayden
2. John Hopkins
3. Colin Edwards
4. Kenny Roberts Jr.
5. Ruben Xaus

I know my pick with Hopper filling out the Top 5 is gutsy but I think he's got it in him. If the Suzuki can last race distance I think Hopper can manage to wrestle the thing to a Top 5. He's got a lot of determination and excitement for this race. It's time the 'Stones, Suzuki, and Hopkins worked together to breakthrough, I think it is his weekend.

Ok this is how it is !
<

1.Melandri
2.Hayden
3.Rossi[possible off at the corkscrew ?]

4.Gibenau[if he pack's his mirror]

1. Rossi
2. Edwards
3. Hayden
4. Melandri
5. Gibernau

The way Bridgestones are disintegrating in the races I doubt we'll see a Bstone shod bike near the top, unless ............... it rains.

The chances of that are slim to none. Knocking on wood here, I can't remember the last time it rained at Laguna Seca during a race. It's quite wet for winter testing but come summer time it is dry as a bone. (Update) I just checked the weather and it it supposed to be sunny and 21C all weekend.

And Ron, my camera is not of the highest picture quality, I believe 1.3 megapixel or something as it was one of the early model digi cameras. Nonetheless I will get some batteries for it and bring it out there and get some good shots of the track and whatnot.

Well. The boy is definately guna be up there isnt he? i just really hope the americans can duff him up and show him whats what at Laguna.

Rossi and burgess have prob got something up their sleeves i reckon, and if they win it will strike such a blow to the rest of the paddock, especially the Yanks, they will be gobsmacked. If Rossi wins at Laguna it will make him EVEN greater i think.

I just cant wait!!!!!!!!

MotoGP.......... plus Laguna Seca?... Hmmmmmm = Prob the most anticipated race for years....
<

ron, i agree with wot u said, if rossi wins this then wow, but at start of season i said hes gunna struggle to win this race so i will still say the same, edwards must win this surely?

I think i will go crazy if edwards wins. Ive just had a thought tho winner. If edwards is doing better than rossi on fri, then rossi might follow in edwards direction of setup! Basically Rossi could win on sunday due to Colins help in practice!!!

Whatever happens....

!!!ROLL ON LAGUNA SECA!!!

Valentino and Burgess are going to be watching Colin Edwards' side of the garage like a hawk. I'm sure they're both aware that he has the most track knowledge and in turn has the best idea for set up. If Colin, and Nicky for that matter, are smart they'll go out in practice when there is very little traffic and have the crews call them in if they are being followed. No need to give away secrets. I agree, if Rossi wins on Sunday he will have mentally defeated every rider in the paddock. IMO it comes down to Edwards and Hayden. I hate to sound like the guy who thinks the world rests in the Americans' hands but this is the one track where Rossi is at a larger than usual disadvantage and the only riders who are in position to take advantage of it happen to be Yanks. Here's to hoping Edwards or Nicky can finally put it together and take their first win.

If Colin or Nicky don't beat Rossi here, they won't beat him in any other track.

The way I see it, Vale can win all the of the races with the possible exception of Laguna Seca (unknown to Vale), Brno (Biaggi's fav) and Valencia (Rossi doesn't like the track).

Well gentlemen I am off to catch my flight for fabulous San Francisco. I will have limited access to the internet although I will probably check in once a day. Everyone enjoy their weekend and enjoy what is sure to be an unbelievable race on Sunday. Later guys.

ive always said that edwards should follow rossi in the set ups but cant rossi acsess
edwards set up through yamaha?

Yeah mate it would be nice to see one of the Americans win (I have to Admit)

Hey all, got here safely and here I am in beautiful Carmel waiting to go to bed and get to the track. In Julian Ryder's article at www.superbikeplanet.com he mentions Melandri already feels the track is unsafe after Thursday's track sighting. Long story short, Gibernau told him to keep his mouth shut unless he is going to make a case about it to the rider's safety commitee. Is Gibbers growing a backbone? Is Marco losing his? Only time will tell. I'll check in tomorrow night local time, enjoy the coverage.

I dont know about anyone else, but my anticipation for this race is HUGE!!.......seems like ages since the last race.

Cant wait

Ok my prediction.

1) Hayden
2) Edwards
3) Biaggi
4) Bayliss
5) Gibbers

I know I know a bit wild but I have this eerie feeling that Vale will

A) Be too over cautious due to his dislike to the track and maybe hit 7th or 8th

<
His first DNF of the season.

Looking forward to it guys and enjoy Ooost & meatly.
