Laguna Seca Race Discussions

Wonder now... how many engines Lorenzo has left

and how many Rossi has left.

With what... 9 races remaining Pedrosa could make it on the basis of engine longevity.

Not sure that matters ..... Lorenzo could win from the back of the grid the way he is going, and with 9 rounds left he would only have to start a max. of 4 times from the rear ......... the way I understand it?

I wonder how many people at the track shed a tear for Pedrosa today? I'm guessing at least a couple didn't.
<
A pretty boring race, but when Rossi is fully fit, I can see some fireworks between the Fiat yamaha riders.

To me the biggest disappointment was Hayden. I really don't know where ducati and it's riders are at.

I was disappointed to see him crash because it's no fun if Chuppa Chup runs away with the championship

like the Lorenzonator - totally unchallenged. His confidence is now on par with the way it was in his last

two seasons riding the 250s.

could be

doesn't this show the sad way the sports gone though ?

NEW TOPIC ??

The off seasons going to be .... debating wise for sure ffs

Gavin mentioned several times that when asked about what team he'd be riding for next year

that Rossi was - a bit peevish, as if say just perhaps - he's not only pissed about being bumped

from the top spot at Yamaha - but not thrilled at the prospect of coming back from injury and

having to develop the Ducati at this late stage in his career. A daunting prospect to say the least.

Rossi is stuck in a really bad situation all around, imo.

When it comes to big business I think in a conspiratorial fashion. I think Dorna are trying to move him to Ducati by refusing to continue to subsidize his Yamaha salary. I think we all know how much Rossi is worth to Yamaha for branding purposes so I highly doubt they would cut Rossi's salary by 33% unless it was out of their hands. Furthermore, Furusawa is retiring so Rossi's guy on the inside will be retired after this season.

He's either going to be stuck riding Lorenzo's Yamaha development for under $10m euros, or he's going to let Dorna feed him to the lions in the Italian media.

He hates both, and I think he has no good options. I'm sure the Flamminis have offered him a boatload of cash on numerous occasions if he will make the switch to WSBK, I think that's what Burgess meant when he said that his future is up to Rossi. If Rossi goes to another team or to WSBK, Burgess retires. If Rossi stays at Yam, Burgess will stay on.

Not positive, but I don't believe any of the crap in the standard press. Rossi is riding SBKs and flirting with a career in SBKs to send a message to Dorna. He does the same with F1 and rally, and it's all designed to pressure Dorna into meeting his demands.

I was going to make a joke about this bit

Some of us will win though ......... cos its been "wierd" since dorna came in and made it all "showtime"

Haven't seen the race yet, but from look at the DNF's (the ones who fell specifically) all are guys who have never raced there because 2 strokes are banned in CA. Kind of detrimental to track knowledge when the feeder series doesn't even run there.

Yeah, I was disappointed too, although Lorenzo would have taken him. Lorenzo's confidence is on a different plane altogether. Rossi is really going to want to take him down a peg or two before the end of the season. You can see the motivation of Vale. To me, this is the reason he came back so early. He wants to be ready to WIN races after the summer break, and he needed a few races under his belt to regain his confidence. You could see how important the podium was in his post race interview. I think a few Laguna 08 races are on the cards between the Fiat boys. The second half of the year should have the gloves off.

Put Stoner back on a screamer and it would be perfect.

How good is motogp in its present state to sell / renew tv contracts etc..this could be worrying ? if Rossi moves on yes

it shouldnt centre round 1 rider but i bet it will...tv companys might drop motogp like a stone

You can only cry wolf but so many times.

This isn't wolf. How many times have he and Luca Di been talking about a Ferrari ride even though F1 doesn't even allow 3 car teams?
<
Neither of them particularly care to entertain media people morning noon and night with their silly Rossi to F1 banter.

Anyway, I don't want to thread jack, I'm just throwing it out there b/c people were commenting about Rossi's psyche.

Pidg. you are making a bit of a false assumption again. For the cure, hop up off the couch, walk up the hall and then open the front door ........ there's a whole "nuther" world out there
<

ie. I think its only "certain fans" who are somewhat "down" at the moment.

Another cure ........ move to Barcelona, I hear they are on top of the moon

oh i meant that dovi had around a 2 second gap between him and rossi...speedtv comes back and rossi's past him

rossi suddenly went fast enough to catch up with him. they didn't show dovi making a mistake until the time that he gave enough room for rossi to pass through.

Cracking race from Lorenzo once again, it seems that he got every thing under control this season.Solid ride from Casey once again and good to see Vale in one piece after these 2 races, another crash would have proved career ending for him but now he got 3 more weeks to improve his fitness level especially his shoulder which is becoming big question mark for him in a long run. Shame about Dani though, would have been close fight between him and Lorenzo because catching a rider is one thing but overtaking is completely different ball game on this track. Little bit disappointed with Hayden and Spies results, i was really hoping that one of them could finish on the podium.

I don't want to spoil anything for those who haven't seen the race yet but i thought the podium ceremonies were hilarious!!

They played the wrong national anthem,as wrong as you can get..

It was repayment for the Valencians who exploded yellow smoke bombs during Nicky Hayden's championship celebration.

Oh i didn't know about that.Well Nicky has never really been in anyones face, like the poor guy today,so that's a bit different.Good point.

This today was so obvious I just laughed out loud when i saw the reaction of the racewinner, when he heard the song.

Yep that was the highlight for me!!!

Jorge wants to be so much like rossi, it's a funny thing Karma!!

Italian Anthems stops in its tracks, Spanish anthem takes over ........... could be a sign
