Yeah, Hopkins needs to be punished for that. If it'd made contact it could have made Checa fall off. That was one of the strangest qualifying sessions I've seen yet. Hopkins was in a really aggressive mood, strangely, so was Rossi, Checa was fairly aggressive too towards Hopkins, and Kurtis was a moron.

yeah i must admit ,hopper didn't make himself look very professional with his temper tantrum, glad melandri is ok and wtf was kurtis thinking.
it was real bad watching hoffman screaming in agony with his busted hand,it looked like a finger bus bent at 90,guintoli ran over to appolagise but the hoff was in to much pain to notice i think.
how was rossi aggressive or do you mean his riding ?
recon his going to be a corker tomorow, im rooting for edwards

Must be refering to the episode where Rossi passed a Suzuki down the cork screw and looking over his sholder, obviously not impressed with the other riders attempt to stay off line. I guess the problem was that he probably didn't see the guy until he tipped over the top and had very little time to addjust the line. But agressive?

Wow!!

Casey was setting up the bike with very worn tires!! Hey, a smart move from Ducati Team! Lapping high 1.22' with worn tires!!

Hmmm. I am feeling a good sensation for tomorrow!
<

I wonder when Rossi will throw the towel!!

I must say. I am ab-so-lutely ticked at motogp.com. I have paid for the subscription and even opted for the high-res.
I couldn't get into the sight. Missed the qualifying and had to rely on my imagination with the live timing. What a crock.

Anyway. I think that tomorrow's race will be a really good one. I think that Hayden will be struggling to fight for a podium. Casey sounds like he is very strong (couldn't see if for myself but that is another gripe). Vermulen - this is his chance to show his muster in the dry. I think that he is shaping up to be the sleeper of the year.

here's to tomorrow.

Totally agree with you...Duc999...it happened at Valencia 2006, where the whole system crashed!!! and at numerous other times I can’t remember exactly ...I couldn’t get into the “Live Video’ only “Live Timing” and at one time I couldn’t even log inn...but it did come good with about 15min left of the QP....but I would have missed out if the QP wouldn’t have been extended cause of the Melandri crash. Very unprofessional effort from motoGP.com and its becoming a habit every time there is a high interest race...you know they like to take the subscription funds but unfortunately they can’t deliver...I agree with you very disappointing!!!

Yes the race should be a beauty!!!...Go Casey, Chris & Ant!!!

Sounds like it was an action packed qualifying session .... i'll have to watch the highlights.

CV on the front row ...

Excellent late surge from Dani P.

Good to see Capi right up there for a long time. 6th ain't bad considering he's never been all that useful at Laguna.

He’s NEVER BEEN THAT USEFUL, “Full Stop” in 2007!!!...lol...He’s been a hindrance really for the Ducati!!!

well 2007 aint over yet, and remember it's a new bike so there is a learning curve, people like capi rossi barros ect were used to riding bikes with loads of grunt and no electronics, bikes that took a real master to ride, but now with these new generation machines with traction control were now see'ing lesser skilled riders like stoner and pedrosa wining races, take away the fancy electronics then we will see how good capi is and how crap stoner is., but as you have said before ,you have followed the sport since 1974 so you should be aware of this.

CSCVAW, don't talk crap
<
He finished second place last time out. Leading Bridgestone, leading Ducati. Not too much of a hindrace

Yes but how long did it take him to do that???..he’s suppose to be the #1 Ducati rider!!!...where has Capi-X been??? They have been making excuses for him all 2007!!!

This MUST BE A VERY TOUCHY SUBJECT FOR SUM!!!???

You have to be kidding me!!! Roge!!!...why go backwards??? In those days they were riding “the proverbial Death Machines” it wasn’t much fun to watch and or participate!!!...Just like Kevin Schwantz said in his interview of legends...just listen to what Kevin had to say about those days!!!

im not suggesting we should go back to those days, im mearly pointing out that lesser talented riders can now compete with very skilled riders because of the electronics, that was not the case in the 500 or early 990 days.
i would bet money that stoner would not get near capi if the electronics were removed let alone rossi.

Rubbish, i think if you took away the electronics the gap between Stoner and the rest would get bigger.

yeah, just look at the previous years before the traction control, rossi winning championships year after year, capi always fighting at the front and stoner rolling about in the gravel, so i agree tom, stoner is rubbish with out the gizmo's and the gap would most defenatly be bigger.
<

Gonna disagree with you Tom and agree with Roger here. Stoner's had it relatively easy, he's been competing with relatively electronics-laden bikes since the start, Capirossi and Rossi both raced with the old 500's, they both have the necessary experience on those kinda bikes. Plus Ducati seem at least to rely much more on electronics than the others, I reckon going back to 500's or at least less electronic bikes would hurt them most.

Well Capirossi doesn't have the skill and control to ride the same bike as Stoner, so thats him out the window. Stoner was riding an electronic free 250cc bike at the top of the world championship in 2005, and he has clearly showed that he is amongst the most skillful and talented riders out there so far this year.

I think you are wrong. He use his point and shoot style because it suites his bike and his skills. That would suggest that throttle controll is not one of his stronger talents. However, that doesn't mean that the guy isn't a huge talent, he got plenty of other abilities that has brought him to where he is today.
