Laguna Seca 2012: RACE

My winge of the race is, why do the camera have to zoom so close? If they paned out a bit we would see a lot more. Hal;f the time you cant even tell what part of the track their on let alone any ensuring battles.

Great ride by stoner and a fantastic pass at turn one. It might not look much on the tv but having ridden this track i can appreciate the bottle needed to pass there. Its fast and blind until you come out the turn, if your off line coming out of there your in the wall.

Great ride by lorenzo and as smooth as ever, lost out due to an out the seat moment in the cork screw but casey was faster today.

Dani was dani, nuff said

good battle with Dovi and Cal

Spies crash looked strange, i hope we get more info on the cause.

Rossi threw his bike in the skip where it belongs

Made me laugh when hayden gave him a boubby back, reminded me of the time he took his dad for a lap on the back.

Not the greatest race of the season but still gutted i wasn't there.

when i saw that soft tire i was thinking WTF? but this time he nailed it. great race.

Very calculated ride by Stoner. He was really patient and kept to plan. Amazing drive when he finally went for the pass.

Have to hand it to Lorenzo in the post race interview. He didn't look like he was straining to keep a good face on it. No

excuses. He gave credit where it was due. On one hand he'll miss Stoner next year when he's walking away from everybody

like they're standing still - on the other hand it'll be a lot less pressure.

Oh yeah, and Stoner he rides like a god!

Decent race, Honda setup looks a little better with the soft now...? New engine certainly looked very strong! and a good effort by Stoner. Jorge very happy with second and pedders a little lost.

Well done Nicky, bit of payback on the German, nevertheless a great job by Stefan seeing as he hasn't seen this track before. Ducati still nearly 30 seconds off the pace? What a surprise, Mugello seems to have created delusional flattery, no updates, no chance, Rossi-hopeless performance culminating in an off right in the place of legend.....the ghosts of 4 years ago must be haunting that pitbox........17 million euro offer to try to secure Rossi whilst not providing any revisions to the bike? Quite bizarre.....

Dani was so lucky to stay on following that horrendous tank slapper.

Loved the way Nicky ran Vale back from the corkscrew.

Cal wanted that 4th so badly.

Great rides from both Jorge and Casey. Pleased to see Stoner bag this one - as Bluegreen said we want the championship to go to the wire.

Last year there was a 30 strong party in full swing on the hillside - I hope Jumkie's rock was similarly buzzing today.

.... but that was great. Miss you guys. Even Rog. Everybody gots to put money aside for next year.

I knew he was in trouble when I saw the soft tires, good job by Nicky even though the gap to the front remains. Did you see Rossi walking back towards the track like he wanted to rejoin the race with no bike.

Looked like Spies rear just stepped out on him half way down the hill. Foot slipped off the peg?...got to the gas a shade too early?...a bit of fluff blowing across the surface and losing grip? Will be interesting to hear as that is not a place you usually see someone going down. Really strange.

Can clearly see the rear collapse causing the crash...its just not his year.

Strange to see Rossi run the soft rear... somethings not right, I reckon the decision is already made and uninspired races for the rest of the year..

None of the angles via the crash clip on motogp.com show anything conclusive...at least not that I can tell as far as during the crash itself.

But you can see the rear end looking collapsed when they pick the bike up. It literally looked like a "low rider" bike in the rear.
