Southern Aridzona - Hell's doorstep.
Since another Epic Meetup seems certain, I thought I'd start a formal thread to unify the various "Goin' to Guna!" posts that have been floating about.

Please post your plans, schedule, and the booze you'll be bringing, below!

Evil Boss Lady says we have a big bad audit the Tuesday after the race, and that I'd better have my butt back to work by then.

I was hoping to spend a for a fews quiet days recovering at the North Rim.

Looks like I'll be taking Tue/Wed ~ Friday off, and will drone back to Aridzona on Monday. If I can swing it, I'll take the whole week prior. Anyone else gonna be roaming at that time?

Unless you plan to hang with Jum Wed and Th, you ought to cruise up to Yosemite. It's (sorta) on the way to 'Guna and is damn pretty. Or maybe the kids and wifey wanna poke around Ell Aye for a few days?

Still going to Vegas afterwards? (I think I know the answer to that one!
<
)

If I get/take the whole preceding week, I'll prolly wind up hugging some trees somewhere in Utah or N. Az.

Debating taking the bike. A long camping trip suggests taking the car, to carry all my camera crap, tent, etc.

Decisions, decisions....

Wait! There are trees in AZ?!? Next you are going to tell me there is water somewhere too.

Up in the air if I am going to be there or not. Money is tight right now, but I am going to do what I can to make it. I gotta quit spending all my extra money on silver haze and skywalker og.

Arrabi, that first pic looks like something made up on a GI screen for a movie. That almost doesn't look real.

Spot on - Glacier Point. One of the best vantage points above the valley is the little known Taft Point:

The second is taken from exactly as you suggested - just below El Capitan.

Did you guys make it to the top of Half Dome? The last pic is high enough to suggest so, but I don't completely recognize the background.

As I said, the previous pic is the seldom visited Taft Point - actually taken in '06- totally different area above the valley nothing to do with half dome, it's on the approach to glacier point. Last year following Laguna we drove out to Yosemite via Merced where we met back up with Long Rider, then two days later hiked to the top of half dome.
