a misconception that aparently alot of the folks who run the show seem to adhere too. it's not true. i'd take the 125s & 250s over any ama racing.

but your more of a connoisseur than your average american or even english new to the sport fan mate. its all about pleasing the large number's and bringing in the £$ .

The 125 and 250s are world championships... imo i would rather win one of those than an AMA title.

Yes I am. I would rather see an event with 125/250s. But your average motorcycle racing fan in this country is far more likely to have a Jordan Racing Joe Rocket jacket and a sparkling, new GSX-R1000 than a nice Dainese hide and a 2001 RS250 (and not because they're illegal in California) if you understand what I mean.

Roger is right, money talks. And everybody with a sportbike in this country wants to pay to see Joe American Rider wearing his Joe Rockets winning on the same GSX-R that Joe Nobody rode to the track that day.

Lots of Joes in this post, sorry for the confusion.

If by "world" championship you mean, it includes the best young riders from every country around the globe except the country that has won 15 of the last 30 premier GP titles.

I would love to see americans coming over to race in the lower GP classes, why it has not happened is something i don't understand. Snotty behaviour?

It would be good to learn the tracks, certainly if you want another 15 champions in the next 30 years it is something i think is becoming more important.

Why haven't more Spaniards or Italians gone to WSS? Why haven't more Brits gone to lower GP classes? It's just how road racing culture is in each locale. Americans dirt track and move to AMA, Spaniards and Italians go Grand Prix racing and Brits do BSB.

I would love to see more Americans and Brits in the lower GP classes to groom more Americans and Brits in the premier GP class but that's not how it works. Now, when AMA turns to two-wheeled NASCAR, there may be an influx of Yanks in the lower GP classes (or at least trying to get there).

No American father in his right mind would teach his son how to binge himself onto a hotted up weekwacker.

You need a continental-European mindset in order to teach kids the glamor of starvation.

When the 250 class turns into 600cc NASBIKE w/o traction control, we'll send a handful of 12 year olds to show you how men ride.

Stevie Bonsey is american and races in 125 for .... sake, im sure some of you only watch motogp and dont get out of bed in time to actually watch 125's.

Naw man, its just our piece of .... coverage we get over here. Speed only played the MOTOGP(800cc) race on Sunday, I saw the 250's on sometime later in the week but forgot to set up the recorder, so once again I missed it. MOTOGP in general gets little to no publicity over here. It really is sad but the majority of Americans are into American sports. Baseball, Basketbal, and Football. You can watch those 24/7 over here and then throw in some NASCAR on top of that, which I actually like

I agree that the US coverage sucks.

But An4rew is from N. Ireland and so does not have that excuse for not knowing about Steve Bonsey

this is just my opinion, if you truly love motorcycles, then you'll be entertained by any type of motorcycle racing, but you'll get the most enjoyment out of watching the pinnacle of bike racing, which happens to be M-GP (right now)

I hate NASCAR ( I appreciate the talent those driver have, and what they do), and I'm american
