I see nothing good here, Oliveira sold himself prematurely to a losing team.

I'm surprised you saying that, the whole idea of Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP is progression, KTM use the same style of frame in all 3 classes. So how do you think its different. He's been riding KTM's since 2015.
 
Progression of what. Moto2 has unified engine, FYI. The bare frame does not win anything, it is merely one component of many. Everything has to be competitive to get results. Including the rider. OTOH, riding inferior bikes year after year leaves even a good rider in a shadow. Thus, I repeat, Oliviera should have waited before committing.
