This is from the man that knows.

This form is not predicted- its the way it will be.

Honda- Stoner will be fastest for first 1-2months, Pedrosa's fitness wont be able to keep him in touch, but the Honda company and Pedrosa will compromise development and faulter . 3 riders , 3 different inputs will cause confusion and differences. Stoner is Due a big crash, could end title challenge.

Yamaha- Lorenzo will battle again for 1-2 months to hold on to the Hondas, but again future development will fail. Ben Spies will not progress as predicted and he will be lucky to finish top 5 in championship. The 2 riders will go different ways to improve the bike with 2 totally different riding styles and the bike will be lucky to get top 5 in races end of season.

Lorenze wil have to prove his worth as a true champion instead of jumping on a fully developed bike.

Ducati- Wont win for 1-2 months but podiums will come (maybe even Jerez).. Development is 100% focused on 1000cc, but as new parts filter thro be warned... Rossi and his crew will emerge. maybe to late for stoner to win title-

Welcome to the forum.

I agree with most of that in the sense that the Japanese catastrophe will have an effect on the development of the Japanese manufactures. About 2012, yup, I think development is surely almost all that will be the focus in the near future for Ducati. While Honda will concentrate on this year, Ducati will concentrate on the future. Does your crystal ball also tell us that Ducati will abandon their unique design and opt for a Japanese version of a Ducati? I even expect some tweaks to the new rules directly straight from Bologna.

Yes they are know for tweaking rules (WSBK) over the years! They did pretty well last time the format was upended too......

In all seriousness most knew the disaster in Japan would have a fairly substantial effect on the Manufacturers racing efforts. It may only serve to close in the gap to the Honda's over the season, the Duck is already showing signs of improvement at Jerez-seemingly competitive-directly opposing a lot of opinion on its no 1 riders ability to perform on it

If, as most are predicting, the overhaul achieves what JB and Rossi are aiming for, then the season could take on a whole new look near the end as stated above.....
