Ah come on, your not blaming the facility for bad racing are you. Thats kind of left up to the teams and riders themselves to make that happen isnt it. The event itself is superb, and after i found a good viewing area, my opinion of the place has changed considerably. Give it a try if you havnt already. Even without the flat track this year, i had a great time.

You yourself have posted that Indy is a boring track with a boring layout. Great place for Nascar, but not MotoGP facility.

I don't care how nice the grandstand seats are or how nice the food is etc. It's about the racing and Indy has yet to

produce an exciting race.

Thats a shame, Misano today hammered home just how .... Indy was. I understand the importance of the American market but i think there must be a better location

What a waste ! There are so many tracks in the world that are so much better for bike racing than indy. I suspect palms have been greased to secure that deal.

Blech!

The track could be improved without much effort just just by relaxing 3 or 4 of the worst chicken .... corners. Piling some dirt in and around some of the corners couldn't hurt either.

I also think that running the course clockwise would help. There's enough space to make a nice fast S series out of T1 ~3.

It is a track that motorcycles get to use, I am happy, and if I lived closer I would be thrilled. I don't see how anyone can complain about any place bikes get to put on a show for us.

What is killing GP is not the track, it is the electronics.

indy has been a turnoff and it will continue..mopedgp another step backwards

Boo hoo, omg how terrible, thos bad people of Indy providing a MotoGP race for the populated east of this large country. All those other track(s) that stepped up to provide a world class event got shafted.

Don't ruin the thread with facts. We all want to see the bikes run on special tracks that have to be designed with the aid of a computer instead of some ...... little short track. .... that it's a motorcycle and it should be able to run on short and long, fast or slow tracks.

That is true, and i would much prefer the race to be at Barber. But like i said, after finding a decent veiwing area after 4 years that you dont have to pay an arm and a leg for, i was much happier. As far as im concerned, the more races that occur in the states, the better, not just for me, but the series itself. One thing i do know, Dorna is about making money, Indy is about making money. Both must be happening or the new contract would have never been signed. The crowd at Indy is good, it just looks small because of the spectator capability of Indy. It drew more fans than this weekends race at Misano. As far as the racing, if you shitcanned every track that didnt produce close racing, there would be 2-3 tracks left on the circuit. Like i said, close racing is up to the teams and the riders, the track has nothing to do with how many riders battle for the lead. Lorenzo won by a larger margin at Misano, that Stoner won at Indy. Is Misano a .... track, should it be tossed. This gives us 3 races to possibly attend, im not going to ......

Geez, peeps sounding like Stoner.

Its a simple as this, Indy stepped up to provide another GP round, if that doesnt happen, that round would be eliminated and the East would be SOL. Its a simple question, do u want more GP or less? If GP came to race at Disneyland, i would welcome it. I dont get what the peeps are complaining about. And given the willingness of Indy to appease those divas, they may even run it the other way (which to me makes zero sense as its still turns to be negotiated, and that it provides an extra layer of challenge is a good thing to me).

I find it telling that another sight i frequent that consist of a bunch of people who actually ride and race, were stoked about the news of Indy.Bitchy fans will eventually ruin anything. WAAA WAAA, im not being entertained like i want. Indy is not the idea place for GP, but i will take it over nothing.

Not a huge fan of the racing I've seen there (on tv, of course) but like you say, potentially less exciting racing is better than no racing at all!

Yes Mom.... I know,

he says while stuffing the last cold bits of mushy beets and liver so tough it defies a diamond cutter's blade,

... right, I got it, people are starving in India.

Mid Ohio, Elkhart Lake, and a few other places I'm sure would gallantly step up to the plate, were the opportunity to present itself, and they would provide superior racing and superior spectating. Indy (despite providing a bland, mediocre race experience) got the deal because they're better backed financially and are very high profile. The used money and influence to get this race. Please don't make it sound like they're doing us all a great favor. They earn zillions on each event. Other American tracks could do a better job.

Yes I suppose you're right. I'll take a stale Pop Tart and a glass of water over nothing if I'm hungry enough.

So you think Indy paid Dorna more than the asking price to bribe them to stay. You obviously have not kept up with the George family over the years. These are the same people that told F1 to .... off because of their fees, and would have zero problem telling GP the same thing. They got this race because they are experts at putting on an event, and both parties made money, period. When that stops happening, Indy will tell them to hit the "bricks".
