Depends what you want to see? If you want to see the last few turns before the straight, then sit at those stands: J & H. If you want to see the first three turns after the straight, then sit at those stands A & B. The best views are from the highest grandstands. I sat at penthouse B last year. (BTW, there was nothing "penthouse" about it, all it means is the grandstands, which look identical to the rest, are above the regular grandstands.) You can go to Indy's website and they have a few view options you can play with (look for the interactive one, not the static picture). Study the track layout then decide where you want to sit. The grandstands are labeled names & letters. Anywhere you sit near the front straight will have big screens. (I sat at the end of the straight, and they had a nice screen). You will NOT be able to see the back section from the front grandstands (J thru E). So if you want to see those back sections, then I would advise you get general admission, and then sit on one of the viewing mounds (first come first serve).

INDY TRACK (once the page opens, click on it and it will zoom in where ever you clicked the cursor)
To get a better idea of where you will be seated, you need to click on the 'buy tickets' menu, then click on 'reserve' seat (as if you are going to buy tickets), then pick a stand from the toggle, and click on 'find my seat' to view the area. Or just click

BTW, good news, I just booked my flights to East Coast 10 minutes ago! .... yeah!
(Travel tip, always buy your flight on Tuesday night or Wednesdays. Why? Because all flight inventory is reset from reservations. So this is when inventory is highest and demand lowest. Believe me it made a difference. I was about to book my flights this weekend and decided to wait until today. I got them 100+ bucks less.)
