Seeing as though Dubya's a texan, I think the rest of the world hate Texans the most, followed by Alaskans!

Some people don't let pesky facts get in the way of truth.

If his 3 AMA SBK titles mean anything then his talent will shine past the lack of track knowledge his rookie as he has started to show in the testing....otherwise good luck to him...

So nothing less than a title will do, right?

Mig, how do you rate BSB against the AMA? How did the BSB champ of 07 do in WSBK 08?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Jumkie @ Jan 12 2009, 12:38 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>So nothing less than a title will do, right?
Not at all...I very much do not expect him to win the title...as previously stated I think he will be top 3 to 5....and if he comes very very close to wining then that would in my view be disastrous for his MotoGP prospects since Yamaha would probably want him to stay on another year in WSBK.

I still rate the BSB higher level than AMA but that is simply down to the number of riders that get picked up from BSB move up to GPs or World SBK/SS series vs the AMA....So if the 'experts' see it as a better minor league to world level then who am I am to disagree with them....also riders seem to go to BSB to get world class experience over AMA as well...

Kiyo sucked in most of 2008, and showed some flashes of brilliance such as Brands Hatch and Donnington but those were 'home' races for him.....It is a shame that Johny Rea did not ride in WSBK most of 2008 since he would have done far better than Kiyo.

Fair enough.

I rate AMA and BSB fairly equal, though I would give the nod to the AMA. The reason you mentioned was that more BSB riders graduate to WSBK; but there is a simple reason for that since most already live in Europe and ride similar bikes plus there is no money for racing, unlike the AMA. I would add not too many MotoGP champs from BSB either. The point i was making was to rate the champs the series produced against eachother on the same playingfield. We will get a chance to do that this year. I'm going with the AMA guy.

Drill, the Irish and Scottish are crazy mofos, lots of respect. Why aren't there more in WSBK?

It has to be all those massive pay checks that keeps them racing on ...... Irish roads

This is my local race.

Also....not all really successful road racers are able to translate their ability to win consistently on the track...

Just to add to the color of the conversation....
