Yeah it was the second time I have caught it,
Awesome how deep into his injuries and how they overcame them.
His surgeon was a genius and the only one willing to give it a go,
Stretching the leg to make a gap for new bone to grow must have been fcuking painful.
But of it all the very start where they show the accident about four times from all angles still makes me cringe.

It is a good documentary, the temptation to just give it up must have been strong at some point.

Funny thing with Hutchy is how such a mild mannered softly spoken fella can be such an animal on a bike, unlike a lot of racers he only started racing at 21 years old as well.

Illizarov (sp?) frame. Like Doohan sported.
I remember being at the local hospital Fracture Clinic when a guy walked in with one. Saw him again, catching the bloody tram home. Could you imagine if someone knocked into it?
Does Hutchinson srill using the rh gear shift?

My son had a serious accident when he was younger, He go run over by a jeep and smashed his lower leg, After lots of grafts and operations the surgeons saved it, Thankfully.
But whilst I spent the three weeks of operations staying at the hospital with him it was inspirational the amount of kids with these exoskeletons walking round the hospital. They were just getting on with it, Very humbling staying in such a place, something I hope will stay with me forever.

Had the exact same conversation with Mrs Deefer (who isn't a bike racing fan. What a weirdo eh???).
Even though she doesn't like bikes, she was astonished how a bloke like Hutchy had the drive and determination to overcome all injuries and obstacles and get back racing.
Another thing that struck me was that during the interview pieces he always seemed to be smiling.

And his sensational story continues, 2 wins today and 133 from a standing start on a stocker, annihilated the superstock lap record by 15 seconds. Does anyone know if some changes have been made to the track or are these speeds just a result of having the benefit of a completely dry track since before the TT started? Normally at least a couple of practice sessions are hit by the weather.
