Sadly yes. My friend, ur post rings glib. Its not for lack of talent, and if we were to give others the same treatment (poor previous season), then we could easily replace 3-4 of the riders now on competitive bikes: Bautista, Smith, Crutchlow, and Rossi (sorry Deal but each of these had poor seasons last year and I could make the case each had 2 poor years). Last year's stint on Yamaha was criminal on Spies. Peeps have taken a liking to throwing rocks at Spies because his results were not there on a bike that failed to instill confidence (something all riders claim is paramount for success). He screwed up his wing pushing instead of cruising around like others have, perhaps knowing he was already being pushed out, replaced by a Dorna subsidized rider. He kept his mouth shut and did the job while others have run their mouth for less about stuff they didnt even earn. Every year up until last year he earned his seat, from a Wsbk title, to a respectable Rookie, to a win and podiums first year on factory. He didnt get promoted for potential then given 2 years before he appeared' to come good. Quite the opposite, one bad year (1/2 being his bike's fault) and he got the boot to the career killer Ducati. Buddy, I dont know if that shoulder will ever be good again and that might have seriously screwed up his career. But he is still young, and if he heals up, then maybe he'll bounce back. If Redding does go to Ducati and Spies is still on one fully healthy, then lets revisit this thread, eh. But just for reference, Iannone gave fits to Marquez on occasion when all things were "equal" at Moto2, today he'd be happy to be within a second a lap. Consider that Pol may be headed to an M1 (most likely as runner-up in Moto2) and if its true that Redding is headed to Duc M-VDS, then lets revisit this thread, shall we.
