Good article from Cycle News posted by Dennis Noyes on twitter: http://cyclenews.coverleaf.com/cyclenews/20111108/#pg57

The Honda Boss on their racing philosophy, why they let Dovi go and their faith in Pedrosa, the future for Stoner and his views on CRT's etc. And perhaps a little slip of the tongue in their desire to 'fight against [Rossi] with all our might to beat him'
<

Interesting reaction to 'Stoner doesn't want to stay in MotoGP for too long' - "I told him you should win all 18 races next year"... wouldn't that be great...

Sounds like Honda are still drinking the Pedrosa Koolaid in gob fulls and are sipping on the Marquez Koolaid as well. When will they learn that 'Fast and Fragile' does not win championships?

Thanks for the link. I didn't see this posted on their site.

No ..... Danny has plenty of speed when he's healthy. It's just not enough speed to consistently beat Stoner no matter what Honda thinks. As for Marquez, he'll need years of development before he challenges the top 4. Years! Are they going to be that patient?

I agree on Marquez. A good minor class midget does not maketh a good MotoGP rider.

Comments on Bradl not being ready for MotoGP or not being better than Marquez is just speculation again from people. He is much bigger and most likely much stronger than Marquez and as Spies said in the post race press conference "we'll see who can hold on the the 1000's for a full race distance". I don't hold much hope for the 45kg little people.

I think the top 3 will be out of sorts for the first couple races minus Stoner he seems to be the only one who goes faster with the typical bigger motor means faster bike theory. DP will prob not have his .... together till the half way point of the season. I am thinking Spies, DP, and Stoner will be mixing it up if they can even catch the Aussie! The rest of the field will at least give us a preview of the end of the season after we see the race at Losail... As for Marquez and them fellaz I think they will be fine and as for years to develop prob be a season or 2 tops. The level they ride at in Moto 2 is higher than more than half the premier class has been used to all season!

Will be interesting to see if Spies, Hayden and Rossi put a few pounds back on - or continue on as racing skeletons.

Don't think it will make too much difference to be honest, people that are quick now will be quick on a 1000. Why doesn;t Lorenzos name get bandered around much, I personally think hes one of the grittiest battlers out there and will definatly be quick from the outset.

When I said top 4, that included Lorenzo. As you say, Lorenzo is a deserving champion. He'll be at the front and he'll be consistent, no doubt about that. I expect Speez to come good in 2012 also. The wildcard is Rossi. I'd really like to see him up front but I just don't think Ducati has it in them at this point. It's an unfortunate situation.

Thought it was interesting that the head HRC guy so openly gave props to Yamaha for the superiority of their chassis.

I thought the opposite. He said the Yamaha focuses on fast corner stability. They tried that and it didnt work and so the focused on straight line and have won many championships.

I thought he was saying that Yamaha corners well but it hasnt gotten them ....

That is his philosophy, and he has only been there 3 years and won one championship, compared to 3 in the 800 era for Yamaha using their philosophy. Was it his philosophy that turned the tide for Honda, or his signing of Stoner. I say if you removed Stoner from the equation, and put Dani and Jorge head to head on 2011 machines in a 10 race showdown on 10 different tracks, Lorenzo and the Yamaha wins 60% of the races. I think many underestimate the impact of Stoner on this years title.

Nakamoto wouldn't be the boss of HRC if he released riders with race-winning pace to the competition. He wouldn't be the boss, or a Japanese executive, if he told you what he was really thinking.

It is better to keep Dani off of a Yamaha than to keep him on a Honda.

True.

No that's Honda's philosophy, they are regarded or regard themselves as the 4 stroke engine company and have always been about powerful engines. Look back to the NSR and everyone who rode it, they pride themselves on having powerful machines. The bike would still be behind Yamaha if he wouldn't have went out and bought the expertise he did to tame the thing.
