Few would doubt dani's talent, but his durability in the premier class is under question, and I imagine that second or third with no championship however good the rider or riders beating you is not acceptable to honda over a number of seasons. He also has not been the completely loyal company man, holding out on re-signing in 2007, and he and/or puig are rumoured to have strongarmed honda over the tyre thing at one stage. I would not be surprised if honda went for fresh blood next year, whether or not it is completely reasonable to do so, since I can't see dani winning the championship this year.

Agree to disagree, Tom... I think Dani's been backsliding and his potential has significantly diminished both mentally AND physically...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (somedamnwriter @ Apr 12 2009, 06:28 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>would puig allow that? the man is so arrogant i am thinking he's capable (and there's a possibility to this) of orchestrating a "retirement" drama show citing injuries than have pedders sign a ride for the satellite teams.

Puig attempting to go all Scorched Earth just might stimulate the growth of Dani's spine. I assume the genes are present, they need something to switch them on. We can only hope...

I do think, and desperately hope, that 2009 will be Puig's last hurrah. He's produced nothing but discord and DEEP seated ill will within the community. The ...... needs to go.

hoping with the faintest hope as i would say. and if he grows that spine, i would kill to see him personally throwing off puig unto the sidelines

Honda want Dani and the bike combined to have more potential than all but no other riders (i.e. they want another Rossi or Doohan).

2nd place is still the first loser for Honda

Without Puig I'd even buy a Pedro T shirt

I'd buy him a beer, in celebration of his dawning of wisdom
