Honda Team Orders In Japan???

And there's another one for us to get all twisted about...He crossed a white line, and got penalised? Yet you can cut the ripples at the cork screw and nothing....

Race Direction was lucky Marquez got passed Pedrosa so that he dropped the place. It would have been pretty ridiculous if Dani had been expected to pull over to the side of the track, wave to the crowd and wonder how long he would be waiting for the Rossi/Bautista/Crutchlow train to arrive.

He crossed the line upon returning to the track. Because of the footage of him doing a bit of a stoppie everyone seems to think it was a pit lsne speeding penalty.

I watched the race on motogp.com and I've just rewatched this section. The commentators say several times that Pedrosa was speeding in pit lane and then show him doing the stoppie into the entrance of pits, but the text says "CROSSED NEUTRAL PIT LANE EXIT LINE" while they show the video of him doing a stoppie entering pit lane. Pretty confusing if you ask me.

There will be no team orders at HRC or Yamaha....each rider knows the situation, and they can make their own decisions before and during the race....

I would say that even if HRC tries to give Dani orders, he and Puig will ignore them as pay back for Aragon....

I also think that Rossi's M1 will have a bit more poke this weekend that it has in the past few weeks.....just to be sure he can help his teammate without being told to so....

On the other hand, i do think HRC will give orders to Bautista not to get ahead of the Repsol pilots and de definitely should not take them out in turn one....

Should be interesting.....in the end however I think Dani will win, JLo will be second, and Rossi will be third.....MM will crash out at the bottom of the hill at turn 11 trying to catch and pass Dani or JLo....

I've never understood this...if you go into the dirt at the corkscrew, it's a bit of a crapshoot as to what your trajectory is going to be when you get back on

the track. That seems pretty dangerous, and yet we've seen that move twice now, from two different riders, with no penalties.

He was forced off track by VR.

Nothing to see here, move on.

But god I wish I could argue why he should be punished.

And who should do it!

But hey!

I'll do it! don't expect him making Japan ;)

Meh, that didn't work for him in '06, either.

HRC probably don't want to disappoint their check writer (Repsol).  They are probably frothing at the mouth since they are so close to having a Spanish champion under their colors again. Team orders it is then if it needs to come to that.

I thought HRC team orders had already been established back in Catalunya?

Nah, man, that was ....'s orders. (Sometimes confused with team orders, given it sounds similar, but a bit more nuanced). As in, don't be a .... and take out your .... teammate.  In ....'s orders, there is no prescription for who is to win, just that they don't take each other out in the process of racing for position.  [It was applied with limited consistency and effectiveness.]

If Dani wants another few years at Repsol, he will line up nicely behind the .....

At this point I'm not sure Dani is interested in a few more years being second rider and seeing hist teammate becoming world champion.

Its either that or retire, where else is he going to go where he can compete for a title and not be the second rider

He could always swap places with Lorenzo.

At this point, I'm not sure he has a choice.  A bit of fire in the belly could do him good.

You have been an insufferable ... on this issue.  But after reflecting on this weekend's PI debacle, the following three items have influenced me: 1. Marc and his team's stunning display of doltish buffoonery, 2. reading Kropo's latest apology for Marc via the insight into the 'power struggle at HRC, and 3. RSun's top ten pictorial edition (specifically the faces within Marc's garage AND the four faces of Marc's Autistic confirming expressions); I must without further delay, issue an apology to you, Mr. Arrabiata1.  My offense?  Believing that his team had done the reasonable, normal, and likely coaching of advising Marc Marquez not to torpedo his teammate, specifically prior to the Catalan GP.  However, my apology is conditional: You must drop your hyperbole and wanton mischaracterizing of 'reasonable, normal, and likely advice' in life coaching of Marc Marquez, as equating it to "team orders".
