Hayden on "Today"

Nicky Hayden made an appearance on NBC's morning news show "Today" this morning promoting the Red Bull USGP. This is a big step forward for American road racing as the show is very, very mainstream. Do you guys see this as simply promotion from Red Bull (as I'm sure their money had something to do with the appearance) or as America taking a larger interest in the sport? I sure hope it's the latter.

I go on various bike forum's in the states and they seem to have a problem getting live Gp's out there, so you have to be careful of how much you can say about a race,as in most cases they only get to see it the following day.

You're absolutely right. When you guys see the races from Donnington live at 2 o' clock your time it is 8 o' clock AM here and they usually don't air the races until noon or 5 o' clock PM my time. I'm on at least a 6 hour delay for all races. On an additional note on Hayden being on the Today Show he was there with a country singer and a football (American) player. All three were named hot bachelors in People magazine here in the states. The three participated in a dating game with an audience member, apparently Nicky won. I made sure to tape it so I will have a look at it when I get home from work and I'll give you the details of what happened.
