Has Tito Tossed His Helmet With Honda?

Been noticing that Tito Rabat has been hanging with the Marquez brothers and even next to Nakamoto on several occasions. Perhaps this is only a friendship thing with the Marquez boys but maybe he is there by invitation from Honda and we are seeing the first stages of a job interview.

This is silly season. DP is unsigned. Open seats on one maybe two sat bikes. Production racer might need some replacement riders. One thing for sure is Honda is going to need some good talent to develop a contender for 2016.

Tito is probably the top choice because Miller defaulted to KTM and sealed his fate as Yamaha pilot as his highest goal.

Yep - think the dance has started

Is the rookie rule still in effect or has it been abolished yet? They got rid of it the year Marquez graduated but was it just for that year or for forever? As if it is in effect again it would rule out him taking DP's seat and quite honestly unless Lorenzo quits Yamaha I don't see anyone else taking it next year besides maybe someone like Lannone

They got rid of it forever - it had never affected any transition from the other classes anyway, so why have it at all.

If Tito goes to Honda then it would be with LCR or Gresini...

Spot on there. Especially if he continues to rule Moto2 as he has so far.

Redding has not shown much on the production racer and I am sure that Honda has noticed it also. So he might not be getting the sat ride and then that would mean both of those seats on the sat Honda's would be open to new riders (or OLD ones)

Luthi Kalio Maverick could all be candidates. Always liked the way Maverick rode a bike and now that he has matured a wee bit he might be the sleeper of the lot. He has a big desire to be up front which is a key attribute.

I am expecting at least 6 rookies for next year. Just a feeling in my bones that wholesale changes will be made preparing for the new rules of 2016.

2 year contract for Tito to VDS. Vds want to enter to motogp with a RCV1000R . So Tito if could be upgraded he probably take a RCV1000R for 2015 with vds sponsor on bike .

Thats not what i meant.....i mean there will be no other honda options open to Tito.....if he does get a prototype then it will be with LCR.....otherwise he will team up with Redding at Gresini with Redding on the protoype and Tito on production racer (with pneumatic valves in 2015)....

Honda are being patient with Redding,.....and he will have another season to show what he can do on the right equipment....7 races in and he's 3rd open rider and only 3 points behind the former world champion on the same bike....

Maverick is the one eveyone needs to keep an eye on.....he is very good....

Well that might happen if Karol A's dad decides enough is enough....cant keep throwing good money away on his son not coming up with some results....

Nakamoto said that 4 open hondas are enough. If nobody leave and left a bike for vds , tito probably not be promoted. We will see...

;)

Some articles said that jack miller is the one who will take the bike if vds take one open honda. (2 years contract for miller also with red bull)

:spin:

Of course Honda could strike a deal with VDS for a couple of RCV's in exchange for Rabat to ride one of their satellite bikes. But those are slim odds there. VDS will probably get one production racer but I bet it will be a good one with absolute factory support on the software side of things. Tito will more than likely control the throttle. The Marc VDS is a very talented team that puts up a good entry each and every race. They would probably continue that tradition when they move to MotoGP.

I doubt being 90% as good as Hayden is enough to get anyone excited.

Redding keeps treating these races as if they were practice sessions. Being passed on the last lap of the seventh race by someone just back from wrist surgery is not too impressive. Not saying it's a career changer but it should have opened some Honda eyes.

Real racers beat whomever is near on the last lap and those entries who are not aware of this look sorta dim witted. Who knows, maybe the loss of his friend at the Isle of Man is still troubling him and affecting his race game.

Redding wasn't passed by Nicky on the last lap at all. Redding was penalized (unfairly IMO) by race direction which gave Nicky the time and place above Scott after the race ended.

Scott's post race quote
"I'm happy with the race, although in the early stages I came together with Crutchlow, losing one second and this allowed Hayden to come closer to me. Anyway, apart from the time penalty, in the end we managed to be again on top as Open Class Honda, that was our target for this weekend. I'm happy also because this is not one of my favourite circuits. Using the softer tyre was a big gamble, but in the end it was not a bad idea. About the penalization, I had a little problem backshifting into turn 1, and instead taking the risk to crash, I went straight, gaining a little bit of time, but then in Sector 2 I gave back some of this time. But I got penalized by the time I gained and it's difficult to accept it because I slowed down in Sector 2 to make the race fair: without slowing down, even with the penalization I would have been in the same position. I'm a little bit disappointed but there's nothing I can do".
