French rider Sylvain Guintoli has signed a pre-contract agreement and will join Ducati’s satellite MotoGP squad in 2008.

Guintoli was squeezed out of the Tech 3 Yamaha squad after Colin Edwards agreed to join James Toseland for next season at the Czech Republic GP in Brno.
Edwards has moved to make way for reigning world 250 champion Jorge Lorenzo in the Fiat Yamaha squad.

Guintoli has impressed in his rookie premier class campaign riding the Dunlop-shod Yamaha YZR-M1.

The second rider in Spaniard Luis D’Antin’s is still up for grabs, with the future of current duo Alex Barros and injured German Alex Hofmann in doubt.
Alex de Angelis is negotiating with both D’Antin and Fausto Gresini’s Honda squad, according to his manager Carlo Pernat, who recently clinched a deal with Suzuki for his other rider Loris Capirossi.

Good to see - he's deserving of staying in the top class!

Damn rite too, he is more than worthy!!

i agree.
we all questioned tech 3 for giving him the job because he crashed every time he rode the bike but now look at him.
we all like to root for the under dog and sg is worth rooting for imo.

Well i remember at the time when he was told to sit the test out for crashing too much i was the only person saying to give him a chance. I thought from the start he was gonna be good but hes exceeded my expectations now.

Yes!!!
Score one for me and the silly season.
Score 10 for Guintoli and his good riding and clever politics to get a decent seat for next season. !!

May I paraphrase a member who thinks very low of the word "....".

SG is a F...CK.

Well I was one of those that didn't think he was worthy of a ride at the beginning of the season. But anybody remember when he led a race in the rain. That alone made me a fan.

Oh and for the record, I like to say: Mothafuker.

Wow MotoGP is so easy!!! I think I'm about to see if I can get a seat at a satellite Honda team.

All I have to do from there is find the team I want to be on, and then T-bone one of their riders, leaving a vacancy for me.

Look out Dani!!!!

Good to see and well deserved IMO, SG is obviously hungry for a top ride and maybe a win or 2 in the future could be on the cards.

Guintoli is the 2nd best rider in MotoGP.

Behind Rossi that is!!!!!!

.....or is it Casey!

.....or is it Nicky!

Don't know which, but Guintoli is definitely second behind them!

i'm pleased for the guy, good on him. but if he gets the ride at hoffman's expense, its a kick in the teeth for the german. first he takes u out and u have to sit out the next few races maybe the season and then he steals your ride. I'd be pretty pissed if i wa the hoff

If Kawasaki overlook Ant, id love to see Guintoli and West make up the Pramac D'antin team for 2008... Congrats to Sylvain though, he deserves another chance..

maybe next season he will be able to get you point in the fantasy team haha

but good for him, i root for him every chance i get

Antfan, not likely. I reckon the contenders for the D'Antin seat will be Barros/Guintoli/Dozy/Davies.... my guess is Dozy and Guintoli for next year.
