I have heard that in some riders contracts they call they other riders bikes by their manufacture name otherwise they can be fined by their team. For example, Rossi cannot say The ducati was faster today, instead he must say Casey was fast today. They also have a clause that they must wear sponsor caps and their sunglasses must not cover the logo on the cap etc.

Sure in this day and age, you as a rider must tow the company line.
But give credit where credit is due. Marco has surely brought up his concerns with his team and it probably has resulted in not much. This is evident by his comments in the media.
Full kudos to him for speaking his mind and wearing his heart on his sleeve. How many of us would risk life and limb riding an obvious piece of ....?
Sure CV's attitude is much better than Marcos (banging bars for 10th place with Barros) but as Marco says he is sick of getting broken bones.

I think if riders were allowed to speak their minds the sport would be even more entertaining and make the manufactures accountable for producing a ridable bike.
Days like when Barry & Kenny were riding and speaking their minds are long gone.

It's one thing to speak your mind and another to give up. He's given up and isn't worth putting petrol in the bike.

Barros apparently said 'why is this guy banging bars with me for 10th place'. Chris 'because thats my job'.

This does not surprise me one bit. Barros seems to come good for 2 -3 races then drops off mid season. You watch with 4 races to go (contract signing time) he will pull his finger out and start racing again. Every year the same.

I really hope this is a blip for Marco, I do enjoy his riding style.. and he can take some hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel after the performance from Hayden & Dani at Assen.

I fully stand by Marco on this one,

He's one of the riders on the grid that can one day be a world champion BUT only with the correct equipment. He won 3 races last season on a satellite team and won a race the season before ( correct me if Im wrong ) He's been on of the front runners for so long and yet nobody seems to care about him. According to Melandri Honda promised more support for the whole season but then backtracked and made a ...... bike. Honestly people how much more should he take?

And dont forget the injuries he had over the past few years aswell. Marco is right, why should he risk braking a few more bones on a bike that wont get him anywhere?

Marco is probably the 2nd most naturally talented rider on the grid behind Rossi ( he even used to beat Rossi regularly when they were both kids ) and its about time people took notice.

mofo i agree that he should be upset & complaining is fine to a degree. but he should never have said he was'nt going to put forth any effort.

Hi Mofo,

Hey I hear you. I'm gutted. I agree about being critical about the bike and all, but not about him saying he won't put it on the line for positions. I mean what about the rest of the team's efforts and the integrity of the sport? I don't know man, all I know is I have a replica of his 04 Portugal Spidi bike that I put together and it took me close to a year to paint. And I have his name Marco on the bike. For a man to have another man's name on your bike must mean I'm either gay, which I'm not, or a fan, which I am. So really I am bummed.

Anyway, hey Mofo, did you ever get my PM to you after you scared the .... out of me and said you wouldn't post on this forum again?

Stop it already, you've done enough damage.

When marco mouthes off like this it makes Pedrosa antics with the press seem negligible. Marco shouldn't be bitching the way he is nor should he completely give up, i am disappointed in his approach to this situation and hope he can get his head back on track soon.
