Finally the off season is over and we can stop bickering. Oh wait. Finally the season is here and we can bicker about current racing. ..... The season is here let the ..... fest commence.

No reason to start predicting now. The main three bikes, ducati honda and yamaha all had good tests. So we should be in for a treat this season. Or does that mean Marc will run away with it? Thats what I think will happen unless uncle mellow wants to change tire again. Only other thing I have to say is .... off Lorenzo, you are still a grade 8 .....

The Yamahas and Dukes are always strong here.

If the Hondas perform well, watch out. It's been a poor track for them in recent years.

Can’t happen according to new rule.

Did mellow make a rule not allowing Marc to runaway or that they cannot switch tires after testing? I thought they already had the second rule but ignored it because of "safety" reasons.

My prediction and I hope I'm right for once. Top 4 only the rest are also rans, ie grid fillers.

I sadly expect they will, along with square tyres.

Yup why would Yamaha give tech 3 decent bikes? For testing sure, so they can collect data. Zarco and Mav did the parts testing and Rossi just does race sim. Just like he does in practice sessions.

Rossi tested about 7 frames between Valencia and now, along with several aero parts, two engines and the carbon forks from Öhlins. That's what is on public record, no one but Yamaha knows the full extent of the parts list on their testing schedule.

Good info. Do you know how that compares to Mav and Zarco? Makes sense that he would be the one to test Ohlins, engine, and frames. Like the final test after the grunts have done the leg work on the smaller details.

As far as I know, Rossi and Vinales had very similar testing programs, mostly because Yamaha basically had to start from scratch this year and needed all the info they could for the 2018 direction.

Zarco had the 2016(15) and 2017 frames, 2017 engine and some aero parts. That's already more than what Tech 3 got in the previous years.

Yup Zarco has the same bits as Vinales and Rossi had last year to try preseason. In 2017 Vinales had a great preseason as did Zarco, where was Rossi, whinging and moaning. As far as I can see Yamaha are bottom of the 3 leading bikes when it comes to race winners in 2018.

You can't see very far.

Why? They were last year and they still if preseason reports are to believed haven't fixed all the issues that plagued them last year after the tyre swap.

Because the boppers have their head in the sand when it comes to their god, despite all the evidence that at present, Yamaha are behind Honda & Ducati in performance.
