Embarrassing..... Its England and known for its completely .... wet weather. Design/grade/improve the track accordingly, its had water problems for a long time. Maybe run the English round at a different track that can deal with the wet weather better?

Should revert it to an airfield and bring Donny up to spec.

Horrible.. They need to drop that track!

Indy would take that date!! [emoji23]

for a track that gets a lot of rain, I am surprised that there wouldn't be better planning for drainage and being able to delay the race a day if necessary.

Millions are spent, the sport is buzzing more than never, yet we get issues with water drains (Qatar, silverstone) and bumps (every track where f1 go) more than never, go figure

Btw, post qualification Poncharal (Zarco 3rd) has some bad words towards Yamaha on French Eurosport, he showed his true color, ie that he is not such a gentleman but simply a politically correct butt kisser.

I guess he was thinking Johann would kick the official Yams ..... during the wet/mixed conditions race...well he must feel pretty stupid now

Btw, the fact that Folger comes back to be Yam test pilot exactly when Poncharal quit Yamaha might mean that Folger thinks Poncharal is an ........

Some of the comments aimed at the riders/situation have been truly moronic.

What a farce. Let me guess, they took the lowest bid on the resurfacing.

So now does Lorenzo get official credit for a pole if the race is not held?

I'm sick to death of people talking about Donington Park.

1. The racing is boring as ...., there is one line around there.

2. the facilities are atrocious.

Brands Hatch now there's a proper track.

SIC Yamaha gets a factory bike, Wilco Zeelenberg and Forcada.
Tech .... gets a bike that’s good enough for a top 10 on it’s best day and some free red bulls.

Well played, Herve!

I can't believe given the midsummer downpours in the area that the drainage issue didn't get noticed. The circuit management must have known and maybe fixed before this .... up. 5 hrs spent waiting and waiting for an announcement, I finally gave up and walked back to my car and read the twitter feeds to keep up to date.

I waited up most of the night to watch the race on TV yawn! yawn! rain! rain! man if we got that rain here in Australia, we would be jumping with joy, the drought is affecting every one here in the country.
I notice Jack Miller was ready to go.Waving his hands about "lets go".
Good old Aussie spirit.

Stayed around right till the cancellation. It was too long a drive down there to miss any racing that there was even the slightest chance of.
Should have used my common sense (what little I have) instead and left at the initial delay. Could have been home just in time for the final announcement.

I spoke with some people who reckon they were trying their best to run the races as they are looking at a lot of refunds. I don't know the legality of event ticket supply but imo if you sell the tickets you have to supply the product.

So what were Yamaha offering Herve other than hanging around till he was replaced?.

I'd love to know who they got that asphalt from, that annoying leak in my swimming pool wouldnt stand a chance.
Apparently it was done by a bunch of pikey's who have now left the scene of the crime to make a mess somewhere else...

STATEMENT FROM SILVERSTONE MANAGING DIRECTOR STUART PRINGLE REGARDING THE CANCELLATION OF TODAY’S GOPRO BRITISH MOTOGP™ GRAND PRIX AT SILVERSTONE

“Firstly and most importantly I would like to apologise to all of the race fans for the most trying and foulest of days at Silverstone. I am truly sorry this has happened. If I had known fans would have to wait for six hours in these conditions with this outcome, I would have taken the decision to cancel the event at midday.

“We were willing to cancel the meeting much earlier but I was assured by Dorna that the teams were willing to race if conditions improved.

“I’m very conscious of the amount of money people have spent on this event. We will be contacting all customers next week to explain what we are doing about the cancellation of this event.
