hey,

Watched the video clip. courtesy of motogp.com of Sete's short interview from his hospital bed.

As expected his face still looked pretty
<
and also the bandages on his shoulder were in full view, I guess from laser treatmet on his collarbone.

When questioned about the race and the crash itself he admitted to not recalling much of the accident, and when asked whether he had viewed the footage of the accident, Sete responded with a no!!!! I dont want to see it he went on, its past and best left that way.

Further to that he added in all his 10 years in the sport this is the first time he has substained a serious injury, so he is in new territory. He is hoping to come back in the next 3 - 4 races where he exclaimed that he and the team will tackle one race at a time.

He looked in good spirits and I wish him a speedy recovery, but the question is ...

How will he perform?

I see as a positive and a negative, Sete could either, improve and make a great comeback due to the near death experience, wiping the Rossi curse from his soul.

or

Jack it in after a couple of dismal races, and do a Sebas Porto and retire.

What do you folks think?

I think you've hit it on the head Daz. He's either going to go faster or slower coming out of this. Although, if he went slower I don't think he'd call it quits mid season and may even try to go for one last season. But if he doesn't find that speed again, I think he'll call it quits. Generally, the risks of being seriously injured begin to outweigh the thrill of racing as riders age.

hmmmm... i think this is a bit extreme. bad crash yes. near death? a bit much.

^ you are right mate its just a figure of speech, I feared the worst when Loris was mnot moving.

i figured as much but unfortunately it does'nt come thru in the typed word.

I think his luck had already improved. He was able to walk away from that crash, and now he has some time to build him self up. Forget the championship, ride the duck like he stold it, and win some races!! You can do it Sete!!

I`m hoping Dazz was right about the near death experience, I belive Sete is a rider of real quality. But my head`s telling me this crash won`t help him at all.
<

^ Not near death
<

Overall it was a nasty looking accident and Sete himself, admitted he could have come out a lot worse, if it wasnt for the prestige quality of his leathers, back protection and of course his lid.

Yeah, but you said near death Dazz, and that makes it sound really heavy and exciting, dosen`t it?
