Im so effen' bummed, I was on the freeway and was exiting and my tire went totally flat!! the rear one. am i gonna have to buy a new one? i was able to tow it with my friends truck.

small hole, no track days, , < 70 % wear -plug it
large hole or trackdays- new tyre
stoners fault for missing 3 races and dropping tacks everywhere?

is this the place to ask this question? no

save yourself money...less you're racing the thing or running top speed on the freeway plug it if able to.. i've done it for years with no issues..in fact Destiny has a plug on the rear atm.

Yeah this works but you really should replace the tire because of the stresses on them they can seperate. If you are lucky they won't but are you gonna play russian roulette like that?

those type plugs are meant to be a temp repair but as we all know they are fine and rarely fail. its not as if tubeless tyres go flat as quick as the tubed tyres. i would not use that type of repair in the front or more than one in the rear to be honest. your better off removing the tyre and using the more permanent mushroom plug as a repair. it also gives you the opportunity to inspect the cords on the inside of the tyre. if any cords are damaged then bite the bullet and replace the tyre.

Yikes! Have any of you ever had a tire go flat even while at the speed limit?!!! It scared me as bad a my worst tankslapper. Why chance it? I'd only use a plug to get her home. Just think of how a motorcycle tire is constructed....

Ah that sucks bro. The most important thing is you are ok. I got a nail once and destroyed the rear carbon fiber hugger. Yes, plugging it is cheaper. Just stay under 100mph.

hahaa, man u guys got funny towards the end of this thread. Well, the good thing is you guys give great advice and kept me informed< I will plug the ....... and keep it under 100 at all costs, unlesss im running from the popo's!!! LOL jk.

Thanks for all your help and assistance guys!!!

I had my front blow at about 105 mph coming down a reasonable incline... lots of delicately firm rear brake and a fair amount of road helped!! I've never plugged fronts - but I've used plugged rears at over 100 mph and on track days... then again I've run tyres with cords showing in February in Canada too...

I've ridden several tires until the cord showed on the rear but never a plugged tire either end. The cords showing is probably 10 times as dangerous but I don't like the thought of a plugged tire. I've plugged many a car tire but I throw away punctured bike tires. Too cheap to replace to bother risking my life.

I agree with Traverser. How much cash did you drop on that pretty paintjob on your helmet. Will that nice airbrush keep your head safer when it's bouncing on the pavement. I think not. You were willing to spend the money to look cool so don't skimp when it comes to safety. If you are just cruising around town than it would be allright but you are riding a sportbike and in all likelyhood you are going to wind it up. There are already enough factors conspiring agains't you when you throw the leg over so just don't let the one you can remedy bite you in the ass.

where have you been roger maaaaaaaate. long time no see. almost missing you too
