Remember that bopper from India who joined in late 2012 and was obsessing over Rossi going back to Yamaha? He kept posting over the top topics about it, including a title like the one above. So this is my homage to the Rossi bopper. Jorge Lorenzo confirmed by Ducati for 2017:

MotoGP News - MotoGP: Jorge Lorenzo joins Ducati

I 'liked' that because it was witty, but I'm certainly hoping he doesn't do a Rossi.

Ok being serious for second. I'm certainly hoping that Dovi's perfromances on the bike are encouraging. Why? because he shares a similar smooth 250cc style that Lorenzo does, and is going well on the bike.

The only concern for me is Dovi is a very heavy braker, but Lorenzo tends to roll into the corner more and carry more cornerspeed. I certainly think mentally Lorenzo will be better, because he will be out of the toxic atmosphere that is Movistar Yamaha. Who knows, it might even make him faster too.

Also, the comments on the report on Crash are hilarious. Some people are already readying their excuses in case he does well, such as:

I am convinced he will win multiple races in his first season on the Ducati.
What we must remember though is that Rossi failing on the Ducati is the reason that Ducati completely revamped motorcycle and the structure of the company. In some ways Rossi has paved the way for Lorenzo to have an easy ride at Ducati, I think Lorenzo should have chosen Suzuki as a real underdog manufacturer and helped them to victory.

Since the Lorenzo move to Ducati is Official does this mean
1) Lorenzo will have a Ben Spies Vodoo season in 2016?
2) Will motogp ban the winglests on the Ducati from 2017?

Just curious

Why the hell Lorenzo should have chosen Suzuki? That's an ...... comment.

I don't/can't read the comments on most post on Crash or MotoGP. The level of asinine idiocy that is posted in most comment sections today is mind numbing..

I like Lorenzo's decision. I also hope Marquez doesn't spend his entire career at HRC. Take some risks and experience different bikes.

I would say this means Iannone is gone because I think Dovi is more valuable as a bike developer, and unless Jorge absolutely can't ride the thing which is what both he and Ducati have bet against they now have a faster rider than Crazy Joe, and as was speculated previously probably explains his desperation when he took out Dovi.

Will his support of the Rossi version of events at PI 2015 be rewarded by a Yamaha factory ride despite Vinales supposedly having been anointed, or has it by a chain of events actually cost him the closest thing he will ever have to a competitive factory ride?

I hate this ..... that you need to "win on different manufacturers" to be considered a great.

So by that reckoning Doohan, Rainey and Roberts aren't greats either in the eyes of numpties, ....... hell, even Hailwoods 4 500cc championships came on just one bike, the MV and he's generally regarded by those who know a lot more about motorcycle racing than I do as the undisputed best ever.
