This is just one of the articles about the new series. I really hope that the living and breathing motors we all love do not take a back seat to these things. Although it is cool that they are coming out and looking pretty cool (MOTOCZYSZ) it is something that worries me. Don't let the tree huggers of the world take over. But don't totally dismiss them either. Hey I am trying to be open minded about these things.

Barrymachine is going to whack off when he reads about this

LOL. I have to say that it is exciting to be at the beginning of this. I do really like the motoczysz alot. I mean it really looks like his C1. The ttxgp went off well and that was promising but they didn't do very well. I wrote Michael Czysz and he wrote me back so that was cool. I think if they don't cost to much I would get one, but I would much rather have my d16rr!!!!!!!

did you see these electric bikes at the TT ?

I was not there physically but yes I did see footage. You can view it on the TTXGP site, youtube, etc. They don't offer anything in the way of a cool sound but the environmental tree huggin aspect is there I guess. But the speeds are pretty decent. Motoczysz has 2 bikes, one with a regular electric motor and the other with a gearbox and the electric motor. He says that he can get the latter of the two up to 175mph which to me would be impressive. Now they just need to make those batteries last a few hours at least.

I already posted a link about this, hence have ( and still do ) have a good "wack off over it, why?

History shows tht the new technology generally comes in when it exceeds the power of previous systems ...... can't wait!

Though one thing I think will be interesting is tht these machines will get to be "torque monsters", O wonder what we will see in terms of riders who can handle them.

well i will admit they surprised me at the I.O.M TT with like 85mph lap average speeds
<

This could be good, the only thing is they're virtually silent! It was well odd watching them pull away at the start in the TT race.

I enjoy the noise of the bikes as much as the racing.

Now these are real prototypes. I love it. I don't expect they will compete with MotoGP for a while but solid battery R&D is vital to everyone.

well i have a solution for this problem. simply attach a speaker with sounds of a nice sounding engine & some softwear that will make the sounds coincide with the throttle action.... simple!

Motoczysz has a bike that runs a top speed into the 170ish range. He also made a gearbox for the thing. The FIM in the article says that they created this series since they would have had no idea how to match the power of the present day machines with the likes of these things. Sidestepped the issues with a seperate series. It will be very intresting to see what happens to the whole thing in the next 5 years. It is very exciting to see this start at the ground level.

I was watching the video of the new moto2 bike and it is a loud thing. MotoGP bikes are extremely loud. The electrics will be dead quiet. What will that be like the first time they round the bend onto the main straight past all the fans? It will be an incredible moment I think. You'll hear the fans over the bikes. That may make it a more spectator sport. It will be very interesting.

Yeah, Do you know you can get them for kids push bikes!

Also, getting 200hp from an water cooled high frequency electric motor is a snap...so is 300.

It'd have to be a screaming in line 4 - something like the old Muzzy 750 Kwak - (none of this big bang nonsense)

Or better still, a sample of the Aprilia Cube
