Oh my GOD. Some 4 AM magic from The Kentucky Kid. I started laughing as he went into turn 12 and Giugliano was too far back. I can't believe this.

But tonight is Nicky Hayden's! I'm speechless. I don't know what to feel.

I was barely holding my eyes open at 4 AM. Now I'm not going to sleep for a couple more hours. This is some BADLY-needed medicine for US road racing fans.

I'm not a stickler for patriotism, but it's too bad Nicky's national anthem moment was cut in half...
 
2AM here now. My heart is still pumped. When the gap started coming down my mind started to turn to mush.

Nicky dedicated his win to his dad, who turned 69 this year.

You could see him holding back tears after he mentioned his dad. Amazing stuff!

There are a lot of tepid performances in Nicky's world-level career. However when he has an opportunity for a big result he TAKES it: Laguna '05 and '06, Indy '08, and, biggest of all, Valencia '06.

It'd be nice if Nicky got a decent bike to ride in all conditions. He's the only genuine star in WSBK.
 
I'm so happy tonight. I was just lamenting earlier about Nicky not taking the Wsbk Ducati 2 years ago. But tonight I go to sleep with a giant smile.

As someone mentioned - loved the dedication to Earl.

Would love to see what Nicky would be capable of on the Ducati or ZX10r.
