<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Are you impressed by Ben Spies?"More than by the rider, I'm impressed by the bike. The Yamaha looks really strong and seems very easy to take to the limit. But there are still a number of tracks where the Ducati will show its true worth".

And meanwhile your team-mate Haga is leading the championship...

"He hasn't done anything extraordinary so far but has been very good at not making any errors and accumulate as many points as possible. He has adapted well to the Ducati and has come away well from these two rounds. Nori and Spies are favourites for the title more than before but it's still wide-open".

The bike is good no doubt about that but Sykes isn't exactly setting the world on fire with it. I also think that Fabrizio needs to watch Losail again and see how much time Spies lost on the last corner exit and down the straight.

Its always the bike when you are talking to another rider. You cant admit the other guy is better,at least not in a public forum.

exactly. You have to tell yourself it's the bike, else they already have you beat, if you believe that another rider is better than you. It's all a mind thing.

Although i agree that Fabrizio is wrong and that Spies is in fact the difference between him and the championship lead, it is foolish to take a section of track and assume that the difference you see is down 100% to the bike or the rider. The speed Spies carried out of the last turn and the drive he got onto the straight will be a result of both his and the bikes qualities.

I've said it in previous threads, I've never liked Fabrizio...he turned in a good race at Brno a few years back, other than that he's never struck me as particularly consistent, fast or talented. Like Lanzi before him, he's landed one of/if not the top ride in the paddock which of course isn't related to the fact that Tardozzi's his manager whatsoever. He used to call himself 'The Wizard', now he's 'The Hurricaine' or something similarly stupid, oh and he's mates with Biaggi.

Dead simple. He know's he's not fast enough, and he's shitting it over Spies, but won't admit that he's intimidated by Ben, so attributes his success to the bike. I heard similar ..... come out of this paddock when BBOz won 5 in a row on the L&M Ducati, - it was attributed to the bike and the Dunlop tyres, and the fact that at that time Misano went left, and that he knew his way around Laguna. No mention of the rider, or the fact that the other circuit was Brands.

Fabrizio's a stuck up tosser - he doesn't like the thought of being beaten by an American rookie with twenty times the talent that he has.

Kind of the way that I felt after reading his comments.

Geez, you really don't like the guy eh. I hadn't notice Fabrizio much to tell the truth. But I think if he hasn't been impressed with Spies then maybe its because he has NOT seen too much of him.

(Well maybe he has...on TV).

You just won post of the month with that gem. That was about the coolest month in motorcycling since I've been following.

BB FTW.

He needs to watch race one where Spies went off track twice and still finished 16th.

Spies has got talent. He hadn't even been to the first two tracks before and apart from the couple of incidents in the opening race he was unstoppable. Look how smart he raced in the second race. Then in the second round he came away with pole (again), fastest lap, circuit record, and a double win. I've been watching Spies for the last four years and he's the real deal. New bike, new tyres, new ciruits, and he's still delivering the goods.

Fabrizio is on arguably the best bike in the paddock with a championship winning heritage and years of experience on the SBK circuits, but he hasn't really done much on it since he got the ride, 11th overall in 2006 and 2007 and currently 11th again, yet in the meantime Bayliss wins the title and Haga comes in and is leading the championship.

Like I say, the fact that Xerox Ducati team manager also manages his affairs, (as he did with Lorenzo Lanzi), probably has a rather large bearing on ther fact that he's still in that ride...it's a travesty.

'Marco' Fabrizio just plain sucks arse. I'd say tardozzi knows he's ....., Haga is supposed to win the title and Marco is there to sell the bike. Hopefully someone that doesn't suck balls will get the seat next year and marco can go back to delivering pizzas on his tricked out piaggio.

Don't joke...it happened to Poggiali, and he had couple of world championships to his name

I was wondering what happened to him. I saw his name attached to some private 125 a season or two ago but haven't seen his name anywhere in a while. This forced me to wikipedia him, sounds like a headcase. Plays football though, sounds like talent isn't an issue. Too bad he can't seem to wrap his head around anything.

Nice post. Where you been 4607?

Anyway, continuing the Fabi bashing...I'd like to say he is a clown. I mean, did he for a moment realize he is on the most coveted bike and factory for him to be pointing and praising another bike brand as the reason for Spies' success? Geez, WTF is that dude smoking.

Fabi=token Italian on a Ducati.
