Edwards to leave motoGP & Stoner to take his place!?

Ok, first of all, theres no need to come out with personal slagging like this:

This is supposed to be a place to debate, and if you`re just gonna resort to insulting me I suggest you stay off the forum while youre on your rags.

And Hoffmann is decent, but he wasnt exactly a regular top ten finisher on Bridgestones. Ellison will never win a MotoGP world championship, he`s just not on the same level as the front runners, irrespective of tyres. And as for Moneybags, well the name says it all. Just a rich boy having fun.

It`s not really fair to say GP riders suck in SBK. Barros has been on the podium, and Abe is on the Tech 3 version of a Yamaha Superbike. And Hopefully Biaggi just stays out of it from now on.
By the same token, Doohan was a Superbiker (Although that`s probably so long ago it`s irrelevant), Haydens a race winner (Albiet one race), Bayliss took podiums without doing much to change his style, and Edwards has beaten Rossi on the same bike without needing the Doc to have a bad day. So I think the bottom line is this: There is more talent in motoGP, talent goes where money is. But that`s not to say that the SBK grid is a buch of D graders who wouldn`t know speed if it bit them on the arse. There`s a lot of talent in both championships. Way more than any of us mere mortals could ever hope to have.

Edwards is a good pilot. I feel he will stay in motogp. But stoner is gonna be a new team which team very big in moto gp.Edwards can go a new team probably .

Richo I believe it was a type-o and he meant to say "Richo you know full well." Correct me if I'm wrong here Neil, but I believe that was the intention.

Yup sorry I meant to say 'full well' but hit the wrong key. I'd love to know what sense that sentence would make if I used the word you were thinking!!
I'll never make a personal attack on anyone so my apologies if you thought so. I stand by what I wrote though.

go to ur closet!

I dont think Colin should leave motoGp.

Thats like quitting a marathon two thirds of the way through. Ok so hes not doing as well as he wants to but he is solid and is experienced. With Bayliss it was different. Both Troy and Colin have loads of talent(maybe troy has a bit more) but with troy his style only really suited the GP3 duke. The fact that he didnt suit the RCV just goes to show GP bikes overall dont suit Troy. Its a shame cos in terms of mental strength and talent he easily matches the GP paddock(with the exception of Vale!)

With Colin he has worked hard to be where he is now and suits GP's a lot more than Troy does. He is a safe bet for any team and a good guy to have for the sport.

My reaction is that he wont go, its all rumours, and he'd never give up.

Richo!

I'm with you Ron, Colin ain't going nowhere, theres plenty of stars in WSB, he wouldn't get the same wages either. This is the first time he's been on any bike for a second season in gp's, he's got a year or two left in him yet. On the other hand, Yamaha need a couple of young guns.

Yamaha could make a crititcal error here, is ditching Colin for a promising class rookie the wise thing to do? Bit of a knee-jerk reaction to Honda's foresight I reckon. Take Stoner, Pedrosa & Co off the Hondas and things will be very very different. Hard one to call that.

The whole rumour thing does tend to get a bit out of hand at this time of year, a lot of it is MCN trying to fill column inches.

There are a couple guys on Colin Edwards' website that know Colin personally and talk to him from time to time. The rumors of him being approached by anyone in WSB are just that, rumors. The claim is Edwards has had no offers in WSB, or MotoGP for that matter, as of yet.

Good point. He often get`s overlooked in the paddock because of all the attention his flamboyant teammate gets, but Edwards is quite a character as well. Very cool guy.
And last year he went to a fair bit of trouble to try and change his style to more of a 250 than Superbike, which helps riding a GP bike. (Somthing that Bayliss never did) I think it would be a bit stupid to get out of that habit and got back to riding Superbikes again.
At the end of the day, he`s still getting on the podium without an RCV, somthing that only a handful of riders on the grid can do. Sure he`s getting a bit long in the tooth, but his age dosen`t appear to be slowing him down yet.
