Just got this weeks MCN, back page headline is:

"Edwards back to wsb"
GP star may join Barros in honda super team in 2007 and Yamaha are trying to woo Stoner to join them!

Theres no article online yet & its just rumours...........whats everyone think?

Bayliss & edwards head to head in WSB again!

I'd like to see Edwards stay in motogp, he's not actually a bad rider.
Stoner to Yamaha? He'd be a fool to leave Honda.

I agree with rgvneil, although he could try and work his way into a Repsol or Fortuna ride. Besides, I get the feeling that Rossi and Stoner may not be the best partnership.

agreed...Rossi and Stoner would not be very good together.
I would be really surprised to see Colin step back to WSBK.

Wow, he is slightly lacking in the Yamaha team so maybe it'll do Yamaha good as Stoner looks strong (especially for his first year).

I've heard the rumors before about Colin going back to WSB but I have to say I think that will happen. He's been a great rider in MotoGP but I get the feeling many have passed him over as "too old," especially in a series that now focuses on younger riders. Whether he will join Honda or stick with Yamaha, who knows. My guess is Yamaha will do all they can to put him on a factory supported R1 with Haga. If Honda's best factory supported effort next year is Ten Kate again, I think he will stick with Yamaha.

As for Stoner, I'm sure he's taking a long, hard look at Camel Yamaha. They need him regardless of how well he and Rossi get on. They only have two logical choices as a successor to Rossi, Hayden and Stoner. And the way Hayden has been riding this year I think it will be some time before he leaves Repsol Honda.

He's a very good rider infact, in WSB he'll dominate, better than Bayliss.

He took a fifth place in the championship in 2004 despite being the least supported Honda rider then fourth in 2005 on the Yamaha. He is a consistent rider and has shown that throughout his career. He may not have the wins or podiums to prove it but surely 4th and 5th in the championship in the past two years must say something for him.

i like colin but sorry i cant agree, the word great should mean great like rainey, roberts, doohan, rossi, hes probably only challenged for a race win on say about 5 or six occaisions, im guessing again... but hey only my view..

i think he will leave motogp to go back to wsbk. he must be really tired of his mediocrety & lack of results. he must be lookin at bayliss & seein how it would be nice to go out & start winning races again. be a contender for a championship. cause he's not a contender in gp's. as far as stoner & rossi on the same team...... well they just share a garage they don't have to be pal's. yamaha need to consider their future cause they have no young talent!

and pedrosa & stoner would? don't hold ur breath on him ending up on either of these teams.

I agree Winner, I'll retract my use of the word 'great' when regarding to Edwards in GPs. He was a very good rider, I felt. He was a great in WSB though and he and Bayliss will have wonderful battles as they did in 2001 and 2002. It will be very close and very exciting.

OH ....! Bayliss was just getting warmed up and ready to smash all of Foggy`s records, then retire as an Aussie hero. Now Colin want`s in!

just kidding, i`d love to see Edwards back in SBK. It would make the racing even better (I`m a bayliss fan, but there`s nothing like close racing) If he did go back he`d definatley be a top contender, and he might even be better than Bayliss, (Until Troy gets his 1200 and Ducati dominate by bending the rules..... again
<
) but it won`t be a huge gap. It`ll be just like the good old days, before MotoGP stepped in and ruined everything
<
Now we gotta get CV back, and then maybe even the Kentucky kid! Yee fcking ha! Vermulen on the Alistare Suzuki, Edwards on the Yamaha Italia R1, Hayden on the Ten Kate Honda and Baylis on the good ole Xerox Ducati. Now THAT would be a sight to see. All of SBK`s Prodigal sons returning home. God that would be heaven, while Rossi wins race after boring race on an 800 back in GP. Us SBK fans would be having the time of our life
<
Oh well, dosen`t hurt to dream, does it?

Agreed. The punk is fast, but it takes a lot more than that do do well on a Yamaha.

I`m hoping he does, actually. Thinking entirely with my head here, I know he`s good, but he`s not as good as Rossi OR Pedrosa (That`s the truth of it. This year with HRC the Factory bike excuse dosen`t hold out) So you put him on either factory team and watch Pedrosa or Rossi, depending on where he goes, .... all over him. That`d be good to watch
<

would be good to see edwards back in WSBK ...

as for stoner. he'd have to be declared mentally insane before he went to yamaha ... face it. the yamaha will end up a piece of .... without rossi's input. if stoner transfers next year, and rossi retires the following year ... he's fukt ... and a yamaha without rossi, dare i say, is not very competitive.

not gonna happen!

As far as I can see edwards is one of the most solid riders in GP's, he's had bad luck this year. Apart from Rossi he's done just about as well on a Yamaha as anyone else. Going back to WSB would be a possibility for Colin but I don't think he'll go back to Honda, he doesn't like the way he was treated there in the past. Like i said before it remains to be seen how any of this years 'hot' rookies would do on anything other than a Honda, including Stoner.

You`d rather see him flail about outside the top ten on the Shitzuki than fighting hard for race wins against legends in SBK?

Whoa there boy, legends??
Who, exactly? Bayliss?
Toseland?
Haga?

You seem to forget that motogp is the pinnacle of the sport not the two wheeled equivalent of world touring cars that wsb represents.
WSB exists so manufacturers can sell more bikes but motogp exists to actually improve them.

WSB will always be a lesser series tham motogp.

I don't see why everyone is so quick to say Stoner will stay on with Honda. If he goes to Yamaha, he will benefit from a Rossi developed 800 and knows he will be the successor to the throne. Which means it will be his turn to work with Jeremy Burgess. I think Stoner will have a good look there, Yamaha isn't as .... as everyone says. Especially when the bike is developed by Rossi and Burgess.
