So it's finally in the bag. Seems the pre-contract thing was the truth after all from a comment Marco passed.
Couldn't be more pleased!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Plenty of other Italy Gossip on the thread. Heading over there now to write it up!

Stoner and Melandri on Ducati's? Sounds good to me!
<

How do you think they will go against each other?...will be very interesting...same make...etc I think that Marco will be very competitive and more consistent with the Ducati in comparison to all the other rides he’s had in motoGP...It should be very interesting in 2008...good move from Ducati!

The one time I start a thread and you take it off for me!!! Own up whoever did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
<

Still too pleased to be pissed off about it!

Hmmm....seems like a waste of money to me, but what do I know.

If they can hold it together Ducati is going to be a powerhouse. As long as the bike is competitive it seems like they have the manufacturers championship all sewed up for the next 2 years.............unless Lorenzo turns out to be the next Rossi.

Why would it be a waste of money?

It seems like a strange play.

They talked to lots of people Stoner was their second or third choice. He's on track to be the next world champion.......even if disaster strikes everyone will still know Stoner has what it takes.

Ducati got what they needed. Why go back out and get another expensive championship contender? I know they are obsessed with the idea of having an Italian world champion on a Ducati, but I can see this turning into another Hayden/Pedrosa sitou.

Suddenly the reigning world champion finds himself riding a bike built for someone who has 0 world titles. The new guy has ties to important players in the organization, he is the right nationality, and he won a 250 title. Casey could end up like Hayden--played like a fiddle. Stuck for two years on a lame duck team with little or no clout. Trying to figure out how in hell you can bail out to a team that wants you.

Hopefully, that won't happen for Stoner. He's too good to get snaked like that.

This will end up being a superb team. I'm excited about this.

Good Luck Marco

And just like some of said...Marco is already playing like Casey's teammate to win more point from his rival and the title....

Casey and Marco is the Ducati Dynamic Duo Dream Team!

And this also explains deLoris' 'electrical problem' of yesterday....

Just reading on Kropotkin there is talk that Capirex might be on a third factory ducati??

Yes. They should be meeting this week according to Suppo. It WAS on the thread I started but someone removed it.....

It wasn't an electrical problem. His bike got stuck in second gear. (as heard from Loris himself) Some spring in the lever went bust. (As confirmed by Livio Suppo)

Don't any of you read the sticky gossip thread at the top? Did I really destroy my fingers typing at 2am for nothing??!?

Still let's not lose sight of the whole picture....
Marco's on a Ducati

Sorry.

Bikergirl, no one deleted your thread, I merged it with the other thread because there were two about Ducati for 2008/2009. Now there's one

I read your thread after I posted the the question about Capirex being on the 3rd duc! It was a good read, so there are people reading bikergirl - keep it coming!

brilliant news even though it was not the worlds best kept secret.

Great ride from marco yesterday definatly rider of the day.

Must be capirex for the spare suzuki ride now.

Shame to see him go but also nice to see a italian on an italian bike

just read another thread and it seems that there might be a chance of a third bike as reward for loris hard work over past seasons

great idea and what a line up
